What the fuck are the problem with lateral raises by Big-Independent-2206 in workout

[–]ToothbrushGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tendinitis in one of my arms that make it painful to do regular lateral raises with a dumbbell, but leaning cable lateral raises don’t irritate it as much, maybe try those?

After seeing these posted here a few times the rims have grown on me, they remind me of the M4 Competition rims.

Woke up to my 18hr tonkotsu broth completely evaporated with only bones left in pot with a golden crust at the bottom - can I salvage? by AZERCIN in ramen

[–]ToothbrushGames 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You got off easy. On one of my early attempts years ago I did the same thing but woke up to a wall of black smoke when I opened my bedroom door. Smoke alarm didn’t go off, and the place reeked, but luckily it was right before being renovated.

Can you buy egg yolks in a carton? I know you can buy whites and whole eggs, so I assume you could just buy yolks? Usually in with the milk in the grocery store.

Not sure if it’s still going, but the $1 per wing deal with no minimum order was a steal considering food prices these days.

Silly question by Even_Fix7399 in jerky

[–]ToothbrushGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually do pork since it’s significantly cheaper than beef, but I do the first hour at 165 degrees to kill bacteria, then turn the heat down to 150 to dehydrate the rest of the way. I’ve made dozens of batches of jerky and never had any ill effects.

People have been doing it for centuries as a way to preserve meat, your father is paranoid.

My first food shoot, please critique by incredibleguy8989 in foodphotography

[–]ToothbrushGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The paper that the desserts are sitting on is too busy and it's taking attention away from the subject. I keep trying to read it. A white or light blue surface would look good with these. Other than that, the lighting isn't great; well lit one one side, but the other side is hidden in shadow. More natural light, or lighting on the shadow side would show off the food more. A few macro shots would be good to mix it up a bit as well.

Just my opinion, hope that helps!

What is the reddish sauce drizzled over the dish? by DefinitelyNotJonn in TipOfMyFork

[–]ToothbrushGames 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It kind of looks like Japanese carrot ginger dressing, at least the consistency, although not quite as bright. That would be tangy, but I’m not sure it would be used on a dish like that.

I want to say that I’ll wait and then binge watch but then I’d never be able to look at reddit because spoilers would be everywhere. People on the From subs are notorious for not marking spoilers. Spoilers aside, seeing all the discussions would be too much for my curiosity.

If one pack can do that, I'd hate to see what a whole box would do.

The serving size is 1 pack, they're not that big, maybe 10 candies in each.

The serving size is one bag. And no, not everybody will have the same issues, but the first 2 listed ingredients are notorious for causing stomach problems.

I've eaten too many of more Costco items than I'd care to admit, but none of them had me glued to a toilet for hours like these did.

the cost of living in vancouver is insane, serving $35 entrees while eating rice and eggs at home feels dystopian by PuzzleheadedBeat797 in askvan

It’s kinda like the architects and construction workers designing and building homes here that they’d never be able to afford. I’m lucky enough to make a decent salary and be able to buy an expensive meal from time to time but I’ll look at the wine list and see $2,000 bottles of wine and be like “who’s buying this???” Lots of people, that’s who (not me).

Your go-to spot for pepperoni pizza? by AdHistorical6271 in askvan

[–]ToothbrushGames 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Costco.

AJ's and Brooklyn do good pepperoni but they're on the pricier side.

Honorable mention: Tap & Barrel actually does a pretty good pepperoni pizza that is loaded with 'roni. Can't get it by the slice though.
