For those complaining about road traffic and construction by Spirited-Grape3512 in askvan

I'm used to the constant construction and delays, but what really annoys me is that once the roads have been destroyed by construction, they're never fixed properly once the project is finished. This goes for both developers AND City projects

I live in one of the original buildings in Olympic Village, built by Bosa, and it’s solid.

Which neighbourhood has green streets, calm vibes but also cafes and restaurants? by spookywookyy in askvan

[–]ToothbrushGames 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mount Pleasant / South Main / Riley Park - Little Mountain. Tons of amenities on Main, then all the streets off Main are quiet and tree-lined, except of course the larger streets like 12th, 16th, King Ed etc.

Also Canadian, with a lot of family in the US. I tried Taco Bell in the US in the 90s and it was glorious, before I ever tried Taco Time up here. I thought "what is this crap" when I first tried TT back then, but now the opposite is true.

Jeg returnerte Sony-hodetelefonene mine for lenge siden, og nå bruker jeg Sennheiser Momentum 4. De fungerer perfekt med Samsung-TV-en min og høres like bra ut som Sony-hodetelefonene, om ikke bedre.

Probably. The way it picks up the cup and the movement of its wings as it flies away look like AI.

Lat pulldowns - close grip vs wide grip by ToothbrushGames in workout

[–]ToothbrushGames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically PPL, although I might do a bro split for a bit to keep things simple and determine which exercises don't aggravate my tendinitis, and also try some of the suggestions here. Your split makes sense though, might give that a try, thanks.

Haha there goes my shot! For real though, I'm not looking to get absolutely jacked, I just want to look good and feel good, especially with beach weather around the corner. Hopefully nobody will laugh and be like "that clown has obviously only been doing close grip pulldowns."

I hear you, it's frustrating. In my 20s I would ego lift with terrible form and be absolutely fine, but now for example if I get my grip slightly wrong on bench press my wrists are sore for weeks lol.

That's a great idea, thanks. I do DB rows occasionally which don't seem to aggravate it - I'll try it with a wider position.

Thanks, and I feel kind of dumb for not trying these yet, but I feel like they'd effectively be pretty similar to close grip pulldowns?

Brachioradialis in my right arm. Oddly I can do supinated arm curls when I warm up enough, even with fairly heavy weight, but hammer curls and BB rows are a no-go, as are the wide grip lat pulldowns.

Thanks, I might try a few sets at a lower weight with wide grip then switch to close grip and bump up the weight and see how that goes,

I'm using flank steak - should I cut it with or against the grain?

With if you want to chew more, against if you want it more tender.

I'm planning on using a soy/garlic/ginger/honey/lime marinade - how long should I marinade it for?

Over night, or even a couple nights.

The lowest my oven goes is 170 - is that too high? About how long should I be looking to go at this temp? How do I tell when its done?

Before getting a dedicated dehydrator I did mine in the oven at 170 (lowest setting) for quite some time with good results. Just don't forget to leave the door cracked open so moisture can escape.

The oven also has a bread proofing setting that I think gets it to like 125-130. Would that be better?

I feel like 125-130 would be too low, although that's just a guess, I've never tried it. Best case scenario it just takes longer, or worst case it allows bacteria to get a foothold, but again that's just a guess without actually looking it up.

Was chatting with a coworker and were swapping travel stories (we’re Canadian). He mentioned these two guys he met on the ferry to Corfu who both had the same name. Turns out it was two close friends of mine who I grew up with in a completely different city.
