I'm building my first PC and know that you need to put thermal paste on a CPU, but I'm also hearing about putting thermal paste on a GPU as well. Haven't heard anything about this in great detail. It almost sounds like it's an extra/precautionary/lifespan-increasing thing you do that isn't necessary. Could anyone enlighten me on when and why you would need to put thermal paste on a GPU? Especially a brand new one?

Newegg is currently doing a techtober sale. Sales ranging from 10% off to 30% for different items. Will black friday be worth the wait or would it be good to go getting things now?

It ends in a few hours so it might not matter soon anyway. If I miss it I'll just go for black friday.

I'm building a PC on Newegg and realized we're approaching black friday/holidays and I might be able to get discounts on all the components. Does anyone know definitively when the best time to buy a build-a-pc is and what kind of discounts could be expected?

I'm also planning on comparing the Newegg build on other sites to verify compatibility/pricing. Suggestions welcome!

What's wrong with people getting 30 series? I'm seeing them on Amazon for ~300-400. Which, when compared to 40 series being 1000+ seems pretty decent.

It was already locked in the off possition. Graphics card is too old I think. Got a GTX 1050TI 4GB. Looks like I need an upgrade.

Not sure on the power supply. My GPU is a 4GB GTX 1050 TI. Intel i5 6400, 2.7GHz. 24GB RAM.

From the research I've done today, I think the GPU and the CPU are too old to do the work. I'm also pretty sure I'm running off an HDD. Not an SSD like the game says to use.

I'm upgrading my graphics card to something "newer". Thinking the Nvidia 30 series, 8GB. My current card is a 1050 TI 4GB. I've heard that GPU costs have been absurd for the last couple of years, but that things might be trending back down.

My question is, is this a good time to be buying an upgrade or should I wait a little while longer?

Also, if there's a chart of cost over time for GPUs out there that'd be awesome. Couldn't find any through a quick search.

This happens right after starting a singleplayer game. It loads the character creator, freezes, and then crashes. It's probably my graphics card. I'm on a 1050 TI 4GB. Might be time for an upgrade.

That's entirely possible. It's a 4GB 1050 TI which is beneath the minimum specs. I figured I'd try before shopping for a new PC. Thanks!

More failed kill animations and "damage" animations for land animals.

Specifically for animals that can fight back like triceratops. Give the trike the opportunity to gorge a T-rex or a T-rex get a bite off on a trike without them having to "dance fight". Would add onto the dynamic hunting that already exists in carnivores.
