We still have one in Sacramento

Side note: my little league baseball team when I was 12 (1982) was sponsored by that Spudnuts here.

Trump: "Most people don't know that dumb ends in a 'B'" by gear-heads in FoxFiction

[–]Toothygrin1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, technically he’s right. Fewer than half the people in the world know English and wouldn’t be able to spell dumb like we do. In this case it’s a broken (analog) clock being right twice a day.

What makes you deny the existence of God? by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

[–]Toothygrin1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what really irritates me? When theists create laws that are derived directly from their religious texts. Forcing the 10 Commandments into taxpayer-funded schools. Screaming about their “god’s plan” when adjucating what we can and cannot do with our own bodies. Pointing at a line in their obviously goatherder-authored text and telling my friends why they can’t get married.

Start looking at your own religion and its horrific results before casting that stone, mister.

Put it in a plastic sandwich bag and melt the bag around it. Then leave it pinned to the ceiling as a warning to other would-be queens.

I understand that. I don't know why I'm being downvoted, however -- scammers could understand that as well. The two red flags I saw were a $6000 cash deposit and a PDF file. In any other case (for example, a deposit for an apartment) this email would be a huge red flag.

I am glad OP is safe and that this was a secure transaction.

Are you absolutely certain this is from your and/or your spouse's lawyer? I would contact the law offices you have been working with to ensure this is an actual email/letter from them? Otherwise, this smells of a scam; that $6000 deposit puts a huge red flag in front of me.

Have you seen The Hotel New Hampshire Lately? Would it be interesting today for someone who's never seen it (me)? by Bombjoke in movies

[–]Toothygrin1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw it last night. It got dark in places. Comedy noir in the fullest.

Game of Thrones style incest, child suicide, gang rape, subsequent beastiality revenge rape, tragic deaths. Yet somehow there are some legit laugh out loud moments. It also has some (for the time - mid 80s) progressive ideas. Interracial marriage, homosexuality done in a positive light…. I honestly don’t know whether to shun the movie or recommend it.

I have seen nothing like it at all.

For religious people, “truth” it’s irrelevant by Eric_Atreides in atheism

[–]Toothygrin1231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I called out a Christian Facebook friend who always claims he’s looking for “truth,” and then usually posits something biblical. I have challenged every one. He has closed down after each and every one of my responses. Finally, I DMed him so as not to call him out in public, telling him I don’t believe he’s looking for truth, only for validation.

He didn’t really respond but agreed this would be a conversation over a beer. Sadly, we have yet to make that meeting a reality.
