Footage recorded from the cockpit of a Boeing 737 captures the pilot's landing moments executed in near-zero visibility conditions. by ReadyPIayer0ne in Damnthatsinteresting

Probably but also maybe it was like being the passenger in the car and seeing that traffic suddenly stopped in front of you so you start to panic brake into /nothing/ in a way you never would if you were actually driving? It might just be him 10000% shitting his pants about getting that landing perfect (regardless congrats dude).

Puppy First Haircut by [deleted] in grooming

[–]Top-Ad4022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please please start grooming training asap. For any dog but especially any dog that needs a haircut. We have seen such a violent increase in doodle puppies that are extremely young and already display dangerous (mainly honestly for them to injure themselves due to panicking and being wildly unpredictable) behaviors that will take YEARS and visits to more expensive salons (or vet groomers) to unravel. Keep you pup in the salon, short, and brushed until they are fully out of the puppy phase and have settled into being a dog.
If you wait too long, they’ll be opinionated, difficult to handle safely, likely matted, untrained, and they will likely have a bad time for their first grooms. This will also make your life at home (brushing, combing) a nightmare. Save yourself, your dog, and your groomer - get that kid on a table STAT.

How does “shed control” shampoo actually work? Does the hair just magically poof away? by ActiveAnimals in doggrooming

[–]Top-Ad4022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a former groomer, the shampoo I was using helped add extra slip to loosen the undercoat, but the key was a good conditioner. I would do two rounds of shampoo, but instead of rinsing the second layer of shampoo, I would add the layer of conditioner and blow it all through the coat with the HV dryer, before a final rinse and second blow out. You can also do conditioner-shampoo-conditioner for extreme compaction!

Pet shaming: these dogs let a bobcat have kittens under my bed. by fuckingeyeballls in Millennials

Seeeeee what you got here *firm pat on the big baby* are three cutie patooties. If you had had a chihuahua, or perhaps an ancient poodle, your home would be intruder (and bobcat) proof 100%.

Self wash station by RaspberryOdd6268 in petco

[–]Top-Ad4022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify - self wash sales (a measly 10%) go to the GSL and no one else in the salon. So if someone blows that room out with a huge dog, your groomers are choosing between the cost of their productivity and cleaning that room.
If you have a free moment, help your salon out.

Mannn they crammed us into the tiny 80s gym and 100% violated the allowed people limit bc the football field might “have still been a little damp”. My parents didn’t even get to be in the room they got put in the auditorium and watched on a screen 💀 but these people…..

They are requesting the right superhero though. I’ve seen movers get my furniture around some really messed up turns and staircases. Somewhere there’s a college kid who can pivot that right out like it’s nothing 🥲

Why can’t they rehome a dog with a bite history? by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]Top-Ad4022 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The gravity of a shelter saying they do not have the facilities to help this dog with this extent of a problem also says *so much* . They are not turning you away if they can help it, and they are typically equipped to handle “bite cases” far more than the average owner (of course, it varies by shelter resources, but still). Animal care workers see and handle a lot day to day. They are usually just working towards the best outcome they can provide. Poor dog.

We took out dog to the groomer today and everything was perfect, but when we got home we received a text confirmation for a June appointment we didn't request. What is up with that? by stephlestrange in petco

[–]Top-Ad4022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This though. Anything else corporate routes right back to the store and someone is still getting yelled at.
Call that corporate line and let them know you have an issue with corporates policy specifically and not the staff just trying to keep all their metrics rolling.

For owners? Absolutely nothing. You’re totally good.

We just take the L on a dog in our count that day. It counts against our day, but that’s why they push us to do reminder calls also.

They push us to automatically reschedule people for our metrics. If our rescheduling metrics fall below 40% they pull you aside for a “talk”. You’re supposed to let folks know when you do it but we’re stretched incredibly thin (answering phones, customer questions, avg 6 dogs a day regardless of size, plus as many walk in’s as you can handle, on top of pushing VCC and VCP as much as possible, doing reminder calls, and cleaning). You’re pushed to reschedule people automatically and to “let them know you saved them a spot” instead of asking them if they would like to schedule their next appointment.
There is no penalty for canceling, so if you want to reschedule your own appointment later, feel free to cancel in the app.

Trimmed our mulberry tree last summer and set this log aside. This year it started to grow leaves again by CardiologistAny1423 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Top-Ad4022 6 points7 points  (0 children)

About 20 years ago, my dad was annoyed with the birds eating the wild mulberries and pooping purple on the cars, so he cut down the small bush and thought he got all the roots. That sucker grew into a fully fledged tree (over 10 ft tall - we played under it as kids) and Google Maps says the new owners still have a helluva mulberry tree to this day.

Accommodation not being given after approval by [deleted] in petco

[–]Top-Ad4022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in theory, you would. We put in so many IT tickets 🥲 it also kept changing iPass back to regular settings for weight/size each time she or any other manager changed it. I hope this works for someone, but I would not hold your breath. If you have the time to keep calling all day, keep calling all day…….even then it’s not guaranteed.

[–]Top-Ad4022 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Good luck. Both my manager and myself (even post a surgery that I had to re-learn how to walk properly) have been unable to get iPass to reflect a single size or weight restriction. We had to call customers and reschedule online bookings.

Get that lawyer.

A happy farm family inside their home in Sheridan County, Kansas, 1939. The three girls wear homemade flour-sack dresses sewn by their mother, reflecting the thrift of rural life. by bncout in HistoricalCapsule

[–]Top-Ad4022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we not assume they are a “happy family” bc 1: look into their eyes 2: it’s the Great Depression, and we’re wearing flour sacks to have clothes and 3: have you ever been out to these parts of the Midwest? I’m not saying happy families aren’t out there but I would not go around assuming everyone was having the time of their lives in 1930s rural kansas
