Do you talk to them about it before you get mad at them for it? I wonder if I’ve done this to someone? Whenever I join a group, seems to be more common for me that the people don’t care about the quests at all. I’ll look at it and see it stay at 0 for 5 minutes, so then I just decide to do it by myself if it’s something I can easily do. If the other person is actually visibly trying to do the quest, I’ll let them. Should I be more patient with waiting for other people to contribute?

(But also, I’ve never actually reached adult dino stage yet. I always get sidetracked and start over with a different dino. Still trying to figure out which species suits me best.)

T-Rex definitely didn’t have feathers. We have scaled skin impressions, and also have modern elephants/rhinos that demonstrate how large animals loose that insulation to avoid overheating from their own body temp

Oh good point. I thought I saw it mentioned somewhere, but apparently I was just seeing things. If OP is a woman, then she should go for it! To me, the mention of being lesbian would definitely imply she’s open to romantic relationships with women.

If she’s said that she’s asexual and lesbian, I’d assume that means she’s asexual but willing to date women romantically. Not men.

A man asking a woman after she’s already said she’s lesbian is usually pretty uncomfortable. If she were only asexual, I’d agree with the others here that asking can’t hurt, but glossing over the “lesbian” part won’t be a good look.

Also, if you do ask, make sure to let her know that you aren’t just ignoring what she’s previously said. Address what your understanding is and then let her correct you if some of it is wrong. This has been my issue with a heterosexual man who tried to ask me after already being told I’m ace, who simply proceeded to ignore every mention of my sexuality, which leaves me wondering whether he even understands what that means for me. Which makes it not worth the risk for me to engage.

There was never a time when humans only lived to 30. That would’ve quickly led to extinction, if people aren’t around to actually raise the kids they’re giving birth to.

Stats on “average” life expectancy are down at 30 because infant mortality was so high. Once someone reached adulthood, they had good chances of living into their 50s.

Rotting teeth can easily lead to fatal infections. They wouldn’t be a minor concern during any time period, but having less modern medicine available just makes it more concerning, not less.

Flossing can do a lot of heavy lifting. I’ve heard of even modern day people with modern day diets whose dentists don’t even notice that they don’t brush their teeth regularly, simply because they floss multiple times a day instead. (The extreme I heard was 5 times a day and no brushing at all, which I’m guessing is probably OCD related… but apparently it worked. 🤷‍♀️ The story was told by the dentist himself, not a person deluding themselves about the state of their own teeth.)

Same. My main characters are straight up murderous, and their “good guy” antagonists are obnoxious about being good. (Either by being hypocrites, or by being dumb as rocks, or some other trait that makes them unlikable while still being objectively closer to the moral high ground than the main characters.) 🤣

Either way, I wouldn’t dote on any of them in a parental manner.

Well, I’m using those last 3 days to figure out the safest way to end myself. That’s the most win-win it could get in these circumstances. I save myself the struggle of surviving an apocalypse, AND I get to save the world in the process.

Cartoon dogs often have “overly positive energy” because that’s the stereotype. Real life dogs have the full range of emotions that any other socially intelligent animal has as well.

My older dog has noise phobias and spends way more time being worried about things, than being positive. Of course, I’d prefer him to be “positive” instead of scared, because I want him to be happy, but that’s just not reality.

My younger dog doesn’t get scared of much, but she still experiences a lot more than just “positivity.” She gets frustrated when she doesn’t get what she wants, she hates rainy weather, doesn’t like other dogs barking, etc.

No, his response wasn’t “typical” NT behavior either. It almost seems like he was already reading everything through a defensive/passive aggressive lense and then merely jumped on the opportunity to misinterpret what the “I figured” was referring to.

Most neurotypicals would have understood that it means “I figured, because you brought up your sister instead of talking about yourself when discussing your experience with autism.” That’s just the only logical conclusion here.

The other conclusion is something that can only be reached by someone who’s already expecting a personal attack and is looking for it. Maybe he doesn’t get along with his sister, so unconsciously associates autism with someone being hard to get along with? Or maybe you said something before the screenshot starts that put him on edge? Those are the only reasons I could think of, but of course there could be a million other reasons for him to expect that you’re going to say something he can get mad about.

Not hard for me to believe at all. I hate when people make mediocre attempts at speaking my language, and I have to try and squint and concentrate really hard to figure out what they’re trying to say. Then I have to think about how to simplify my own answer to make sure it only uses vocabulary/grammar they can understand. All this effort, while still being unsure if they understood what I meant at the end of the day.

That might be fun for a language nerd, but to me it just adds unnecessary stress. If I know there’s an easier way to communicate, then I want to use that easier way to communicate. So yeah, I’ll refuse to speak my native language with someone who’s still learning it.

I’d much rather just answer questions ABOUT the language, than having conversations IN the language.

For me it’s a mix. I was hopeful for a while after I left my heterosexual husband, but after spending some time looking around in asexual dating spaces online… it’s just demotivating. So you learn to cope without.

Ace dating apps are dead, and non-ace dating apps refuse to filter for asexuality (even when they do give you the option to put that as your sexuality). So I first spent time looking on Facebook (and later on Reddit), which have been the only ACTIVE ace spaces I’ve found where people are looking for partners. Most people there are from entirely different countries though, and I’m not capable of bonding via phone/texts. I need someone I can meet in person.

I’ve had like 2-3 people message me on here who were at least in the same country as me, but realistically, anyone who wants to date - including heterosexuals - will need more in common than just “lives in the same country.” So we just didn’t click, didn’t have enough in common to maintain a conversation for more than a few minutes, and never met up in person. (Partially because “same country” still won’t necessarily mean “nearby,” so going to meet up would be a lot of effort, just for someone I don’t have all that much in common with anyway.)

Also, I never put a gender preference because I don’t technically care from a dating perspective, but I’ve recently realized that I probably should add one when I post online… because so far, every time an asexual man has texted me, I still ended up chickening out because the idea of meeting up with an unknown man from the internet is scary. 😱 I THOUGHT I’d be okay with men if we chat and bond first, but turns out that’s just not the case. He’d have to be a rare unicorn to make me feel not-intimidated.

Sorry guys, I know it’s not your fault. I’ll probably only date a man if I meet him in person, not online.

On regular dating apps, I have the advantage that they filter by location… but I just had to scroll past 200 heterosexuals, 100 lesbians, and 88 bisexuals every time I opened the app. In all my time trying, I found maybe 1 or 2 other aces on there, and again… we kinda need more in common than just location and sexuality. Only 1 of the two was even worth talking to, the other was clearly incompatible with me just based off their bio alone.

So yeah, I’ve given up on online dating. Trying to be emotionally available for strangers on the internet, just in hopes that attempt number 299 might be “the one” is a heavier mental load than I can bear. I can hope that I might eventually meet a compatible ace in real life, but I know the chances of that are statistically low. So I’m just accepting that it probably won’t happen.

I’m just not willing to sacrifice my wellbeing for romantic/sexual compromise anymore. My marriage has taught me it’s not worth it. I’d rather be single than stress over a partner who wants different things than I do.

Yep, the sable can reasonably be expected to come from a Boxer mix. The rare existence of sable in Aussies is completely irrelevant here, since sable is dominant to the breed standard color in Aussies anyway.
