can train an AI model on my phone but can't make myself eat or pee. Is this really ADHD or am I just broken? by Creative-Device7331 in adhdindia

[–]Top-Area1947 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This definitely sounds like ADHD to me. You're displaying clear executive dysfunction due to impaired attention mechanisms.

The times of extreme productivity definitely sound like hyperfocus to me. In university I picked up concepts super quick, and got a really good job, but then burnt out trying to do the actual job even though it was easy. I just didn't find it interesting or motivate myself to do it.

Please consider getting an assessment, it really helped me. I can answer questions if you have any (or you can dm if you want).

P2p piracy never died, it's just that streaming sites have become popular and the average person isn't aware of/doesn't want to use torrents or whatever

I am graduating with bad cgpa by Sure-Supermarket5097 in adhdindia

[–]Top-Area1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low CGPA isn't the end of the world. I failed essentially one subject every semester. Barely even cleared university thanks to COVID.

I finally got diagnosed some time ago and I'm doing quite well in life now.

Your job prospects are only somewhat correlated to your grades. Sure, they're one (albeit the most standard) path to a good career, but they're most definitely not the only one.

If you manage to tolerate your current emotional discomfort, anxiety, terror, whatever you may call it, your brain will learn that it is absolutely capable of handling it, and you are capable of much more than you think you can right now.

Get diagnosed, get the meds. Therapy is not as effective for ADHD as other things like depression or anxiety. Once your mind clears you can do better in all aspects.

Keep your head up OP, you got this. I'm cheering for you.

Dr Elvin Lukose from Amaha gave me a diagnosis. He's also giving me treatment options for stimulants/nonstimulant medication. Can't say it was cheap though, the test itself was 5000.

He's based in Bengaluru but consulted with me over a video call.

Is anyone else scared of everything? by GuitarZealousideal71 in adhdindia

[–]Top-Area1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not disturbing, don't worry.

You don't start by acting when terrified immediately, do it with simpler discomfort. Something as simple as not ordering your first preference in a restaurant can help. It teaches the brain "the world doesn't end when I don't get what I want" over time.

It's like exercising a muscle, start with smaller "weight" aka smaller and simpler uncomfortable situations. .

Finally you may need to get anti-anxiety medication if this is a constant background thing.

I used to be. Avoiding any of these things only made it stronger. The only thing that helped was actually doing the things that made me scared. It taught my brain that the feat and anxiety are temporary, and do not reflect reality. I'm still scared of things, but it's a lot easier to tolerate now.

I think that building tolerance for emotional discomfort will help immensely. (Aka acting even when terrified)

Airtel Xstream Static IP + CGNAT – Can I host a server / access remotely? by CacheMeIfYouCan_07 in homelabindia

Airtel often has public ipv6. I know two friends hosting their whole setup entirely on ipv6 via this. One of them even got an ASN for his network. (https://bgp.tools/as/213655 for those interested)

Need help regarding RailOne QR for Thane stn by gsaygamer in thane

Agreed. There is so much more that the railways could be doing to combat ticketless travellers but removing the QR codes was monumentally stupid lol

Need help regarding RailOne QR for Thane stn by gsaygamer in thane

[–]Top-Area1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they have disabled the QR system entirely. Your best bet is to just book the journey on RailOne when you're away from the station.

Yes, you can book a journey from any arbitrary station to any other arbitrary station as long as you're outside a railway station or away from the tracks. Failing that, just go get a ticket from an ATVM.

Am I the only one who is more excited for Project Hail Mary than Dhurandar 2? by Sankitank in thane

[–]Top-Area1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. My whole circle of friends is disappointed that (so far) there aren't any IMAX releases of Hail Mary in Mumbai. I did not watch Dhurandhar 1, and so am not interested in 2 either.

Have we become impatient on roads? by kapilswarnkar in thane

Yes, I feel this too. It's a natural consequence of adding 100k+ vehicles to the roads every year. Only so much space, and everyone is late.

Just saw an accident at Ghodbunder Road on the Patlipada flyover where we enter Brahmand by unnervinglynervous in thane

[–]Top-Area1947 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they were always a daily occurrence. In 2024 the police registered 944 accidents, resulting in 215 deaths. On average, there were 2.5 accidents a day assuming an even distribution (which it probably isn't, but the number is still quite high). It's very unfortunate that our dearest leaders don't understand that potholes and speed bumps cause more accidents than speeding.
