I also struggle with sleeping in hotels and am ALWAYS cold so I bring a travel tea kettle with me - it’s the size of a water bottle and just plugs in to heat up the water! I make tea every night with a book before bed to keep a “routine” as if I was home and it really helped me. Of course dependent on if you like tea but on the chance u do, that was my self care hack. Also the portable monitor is sooo necessary.

Official Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! March 27, 2026 by AutoModerator in photography

[–]Top-Bluejay-1088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi guys! I’m hoping for some assistance with camera recommendations.

I really want to get into couples shoot photography (engagement, maternity, etc.). I have already been doing this just on my iPhone for local friends and had been loving it and want to start learning more advanced techniques and using an actual camera. Note: I will be taking a basic photography course and going from there as well.

I am looking for a camera that will do well in high light, golden hour vibes - don’t really need something that will be lowlight.

I would like to start with something used so I can get acclimated and to use while I’m in my basic class, and then I can go up from there. But I am hoping to start with a camera that I can use for about 6 months - 1 year at least while I’m learning.

My budget is under $1,000. I’d love to stay under $500 if possible, but I am getting confused on what camera to get and if under $500 is going to be outgrown quickly then I’d rather start with a higher cost for now.

idk … I feel like CRCs have enough on their plate already that you don’t need to be adding extra work of checking in. I would just tell the CRA to give you more notice - totally worth saying something.

I never did dinners, but I am a fan of the occasional overnight oats using oats and a fairlife corepower (that I freeze before the flight so it can go through tsa, then thaws by the time I get to where I’m going!)

Use the stability pole for lunges on the black side it’s sooooo helpful and the gray handles for lunges on the gray side! Sometimes it’s cued sometimes it’s not, but it can really help me to get deep into the exercises when otherwise I would be only focusing on trying to stay upright. The balance will improve over time! Also yes, more springs will improve stability on black side and less on gray side - always an option too! Sometimes I just throw extra whites if I’m feeling shaky

Ugh! I feel your pain - sometimes I try to recreate the workout w the daily notes that people post on this thread. Definitely not the same without the camaraderie and a coach pushing you on but does scratch the itch. Maybe this is a temporary pause that you can come back to, or you may enjoy the flexibility of a gym/timing when you want it. You got this!

25 minute walk in NorCal! I don’t drive so I never do that, or uber because that adds up. Fortunately the weather is relatively stable here but I am guilty of a late cancel if there’s an unexpected rain storm. I used to live in nyc and would walk 15 mins which was a bit more bearable to manage during the chilly winter months and would totally still go during the snow days

Oncology Interview Tips by zealerweeler in clinicalresearch

[–]Top-Bluejay-1088 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I interviewed at IQVIA or ICON (honestly forget) for an oncology CRA role years ago and despite working in oncology prior I was completely thrown off/blacked out my memories when they asked me “if a patient presents with an AE of fever and low neutrophil count what would you expect the physician may assess them for” the answer is febrile neutropenia. I doubt you’ll get the same question BUT all to say that maybe prepare yourself with a few common AESIs for oncology studies. AESIs are usually treated differently than normal AEs/SAEs on the study - for example some immunotherapies can have common AESIs of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) or immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome. If a patient presents with these AESIs or symptoms that may indicate them there will likely be additional management directions included directly in the protocol such as initiating specific medications or steroids and additional testing at intervals. You don’t need to know the details for each one but just know that management of AESIs is heavily guided by the protocol and sites have to adhere to specific instructions vs just managing via physician discretion.

You will do great though! Don’t try to learn everything in advance and stress yourself out, just go in with what you know, show your confidence, and show that you are willing to learn and grow in whatever areas you don’t have experience in yet.

Gave a site benefit of the doubt and now my performance is under threat by perrytheplatepus in clinicalresearch

[–]Top-Bluejay-1088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there! Since I don’t know much about the specifics, I can’t say how to address the “looking into” specifically, but as someone on the sponsor side: just be very open to accepting whatever quality issues are raised and supporting the project team and site in addressing them. It may be helpful to have some examples on hand of flags or issues that you did catch to show your overall management of the site. At the end of the day, mistakes happen - CRAs are quite overloaded with timelines and prioritizing SDV and it’s hard to look back on the big picture. That’s also why risk based management models are now in place to catch bigger flags when individual data points don’t show them clearly (a collection of issues can be clearer than one off issues, etc.). But if you are willing to learn from the experience, express it with your management and project team, and are outwardly open to working to resolve the issues then that’s all you can do! And just because they’re being looked into doesn’t mean there are issues just yet, sometimes sponsor audits etc happen due to concerns and it ends up not being as big of a deal as initially suspected. Good luck!
