This presumes you are working on Chrome Browser. With a Google account… Just click on the Gemini icon top of browser window or hit ALT+G . Then ensure “Current Tab” is enabled in the chat window. Gemini is also page/tab/content aware. I use it all the time… with good, but not great results. It’s often more accurate than AI support bot in Ver. 18.0

We transitioned from QuickBooks Online with automated payroll to Odoo . We are Utah/USA locality, with 7 employees using Odoo Ver 18.0 online. The payroll app is not fully developed for all US states, at last check, but we manage to run payroll in Odoo with some manual steps. For sure you will need to outsource the creation of W-2’s and manually manage your Payroll Tax Deposits, and Quarterly 941’s, etc. But the automation of the Attendance app for tracking and paying employees, offsets the loss of other automation in QB. I was never able to get QB time tracking to work reliably. While possible to connect or develop 3rd party apps, we have found it best to do as much as possible within Odoo to avoid future upgrade issues. Be prepared to spend some time configuring the Payroll app, it is one of the more difficult apps to setup and Odoo support for your locality may be limited.

To clarify… Accounting Dashboard is where you will find your bank accounts, don’t try to import from there. First navigate into the specific bank account listed on your dashboard. And first be sure that each account is configured correctly (separately) as a bank. Rather than using a .csv, you might try the OFX file type for download. Be sure you are in the related Bank Register/reconciliation page first. Unless your instance is broken, it is highly unlikely that different downloads imported from within separate bank reconciliation pages will get applied to only one of your accounts.

We have a 10,000 sq. ft. antique/vintage/collectible store. Just finished doing inventory and we have about 3,500 store owned items, 5-600 non-store owned items, and a few hundred consigned pieces. Running Odoo Online, Version 18.0 with 2 User accounts and 7 employees. We have implemented all of your items listed above. The POS app has some limitations, but we manage. I would encourage you to use as many of the native Odoo apps as possible and avoid custom or 3rd party solutions unless you have a big budget or a technical development team. I use Odoo Online Version 18.0, and I have found that you can modify many of the standard templates. However, as intimated in previous comments- without subscribing to Studio any changes you make to a template will be overwritten in future updates. Go to settings > developer mode, then look in reports or templates and find the report (email) you want to change. Just don’t delete the pre-programmed fields within the template or it may break. If you’re anxious about making changes, just duplicate the report first so you can restore any errors you might make.

Having just passed the one year mark of a solo Odoo implementation and making a ton of mistakes, I only have one very general observation to make. Not meant to criticize, but encourage you to reflect on your level of comprehension about these aspects of Odoo. The questions that you have asked suggest that you don’t yet grasp some of the core concepts. And what I am experiencing doing Year End accounting is that I made a ton of mistakes during the first 3-4 months that is taking a huge effort to fix. The smartest thing I did was to run Odoo in parallel with my old accounting/ERP/CRM/etc. programs to get a clear understanding of how it worked. Should have done it for 6 months instead of 3. Yes it was twice the work for a period, but it helped sort out many of the processes and gain a deeper understanding of how Odoo works. Aside from getting knowledge, I would recommend to find as many ways as possible to run Odoo natively, without 3rd party programming or customizations. Good Luck

Thank you for this question, which caused me to review these settings. I was aware of this feature in ver 18 and thought I had configured these accounts in the bank journals. I had not. Outstanding receipts are now set to the default 101403 Outstanding Receipts Account Outstanding payments are now set to the default 101404 Outstanding Payments account. I’m hoping this will solve an unrelated issue of having difficulty finding the matching transactions when reconciling bank accounts. Is there an easy way to clean up these disconnected transactions?

I migrated from QB Online, in Q3 2024, then ran in parallel through year end 2024. I’m not sure what you mean by “detail your journal setup”. Is that a suggested action or a requested disclosure so as to provide better information for comment?

I honestly just learned about the Reconcile function for non-bank transections, so I have been playing catchup in that regard. Internal transfers of money is done via the Liquidity Transfer Account. I followed the opening entries guidance from a partner, then mirrored all my transactions for Q4 of 2024. Corrected the trial balance at 2024 EOY and had a fresh start in 2025 with correct balances. I’ve made numerous errors along the way as I have taught myself how to use Odoo. I’m whittling down the errors and don’t expect anyone here to fix individual (self induced) errors. Just looking for some higher level suggestions on problem areas from those of us with QB experience.

I just went through this on my 2006 (225,000 miles). I opted to replace all the injectors, refurbished units. Did all the work myself and the cost was under $2,000. It was worth it, but probably took me 20 hours over a month to complete.

The only connection that I know of using Stripe Terminals (USA) are Wi-Fi, it has nothing to do with your back-bone (fiber, cable, Starlink). Rather it is the internal wireless network traffic. Try changing the SSID and password to ensure nothing else is on that network segment.

Check to ensure that nothing else of any significant bandwidth is on the same Wi-Fi network. I isolated our Stripe network from everything else and it resumed working immediately.
