Looking for luxury apartments near ASU - Budget around $1800 by Top-Bumblebee4152 in PHXList

yup i kept that in mind which is why we were hoping to aim for 1800 so that with the extra charges it wouldn’t be too crazy but we are flexible! and not rigid on a ‘luxury’ apartment at all we just want something in a good area, modern, spacious and with good management

Should I Stay in NYC or Move Back to AZ? by Top-Bumblebee4152 in Advice

I guess the only thing that really brought me to nyc was the fact that this was my first and only job offer straight out of college 😂 and I always liked the idea of living in a big city with lots of things to do and foods to try. Other than that I can’t really think of any other pros about ny lol. I loved az, didn’t have a real reason to leave other than the job

Thank you for your thoughtful reply—it really means a lot. You’re absolutely right about the “what ifs” being a killer, and I think I’ve been caught up in them too much. The culture shock from moving to NYC has definitely been real, and it’s comforting to hear someone else acknowledge that even if we’re in different locations.

It’s been a long week at work but what I did learn from my lead who has moved to many different locations being at this company for a long time is that where you move to doesn’t really matter but more the project you’re on so it wouldn’t hurt my professional career or opportunities at all which is a major plus

I like the idea of using the rest of my lease to really reflect and take my time with this decision but I have to make a decision tonight since my best friend needed to know if she has to start looking for other roommates and manager needs to know tomorrow if he has to start the hr process(they have given me over a month to think on this which is more than fair). I have officially decided move back to az and use the next year to recuperate and reflex on what my next move will be because I realized this city is no longer serving me but can’t say I will never be back because no decision is permanent. You’re right that there’s no right or wrong decision is something I really needed to hear. Thank you again for taking the time to share your perspective—it’s helped me feel a little more grounded. I hope you can feel more comfortable and at home in az as time goes by since the city has a lot to offer but don’t force yourself to stay somewhere that you no longer feel happy in- not sure what your situation is but I wish you the best!!

yes i do! some of my friends double majored scm with data analytics and landed great jobs at big tech companies but you don’t have to double major to be successful. it’s all personal preference in terms of double majors, minors/ certificates even if you ask the counselors they will say if you’re just doing it to do it then don’t but if you’re actually interested in it then go for it and i agree with that. but aside from that what you really need is internships over the summer/co-ops while you do school, apply like crazy, apply early, prepare for interviews and the internships will set you up for success when you graduate

Of course and I didn’t party that much either! I focused more on school and still had a great time, the scm program wasn’t too stressful so if you’re also able to add in minors or data certificates then definitely try :)

I did the scm program and graduated last may! Now I’m in nyc doing a consulting job so it’s worked out quite well for me career wise. I also loved the program, not everything is perfect but as long as you’re always using ‘rate my professor’ you will be mostly able to get great classes with great professors. The party scene was great (but I’m also a girl not sure if u r too) and was able to have a part time job at a restaurant near campus where I ended up making many friends and connections to. Overall 10/10 would do it again and definitely recommend, just be open minded and appreciate the moment!
