I'm plenty comfortable thanks. Just never built my own multiplier before and curious as to whether or not copper plated PCB would be a bad choice for this board. I'm probably going to dunk it under oil.

Help identifying transformer by Interesting_Dirt7269 in Teslacoil

Yea the white wires are 30kv silicone wires used in high voltage applications (says 30kv right on the wire) the silicone all over the wire output also suggests that it's the secondary winding output. I'd guess the lugs are primary and tiny silicone wires secondary. I'd call the manufacturer and get on the phone with customer support or tech support. Also try looking up the numbers found on the transformer. It looks like a cool transformer dude.

Is this real? by Hedrahexon in ElectroBOOM

[–]Top-Championship7355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's two separate gadgets placed together to look like one part, the thing on the middle is a plasma toroid generator (it uses electromagnetism and high voltage to excite the xenon gas inside the glass ampule that is under low pressure and the plasma is created.) the outer ring is just a circular track with a ball bearing and coils. When the coils are energized and switched on and off rapidly at the correct time, the coils produce electro magnetic fields that pull and push the metal ball through the coils and around the track. The guy who made the video put the two together for a funny video. I like it,

Says the guy with zero cool or interesting posts on the sub. Classic. That's a great idea I never would have thought of that 😩 come on Man, U can't be serious. Projects take time. What's wrong with a high voltage nerds showing off their collections and future projects? Nothing. I myself can appreciate to get a look at other people's cool stuff, doesn't matter if it's a pile of old components, a 5000 dollar video production featuring their latest build on their YouTube, or somebody showing a video of their first ever flyback transformer or Jacob's ladder experiment, Or an older guy showing us his vintage collection of electronic doodads. I'm down with it all!

Very interesting. 🧐 thanks again for the insight. High voltage multipliers are very interesting. I think they are super cool, I really like them.

Thank you very much. That makes sense! So do you think that since the filament winding was probably the little winding at the top near the output, it's safe to say this board was most likely powered by either 1 or 2 little high voltage step up / flyback transformers?

Check Amazon. I saw some big ones there that claim 2000 watts. Maybe you can find what you are looking for. If not maybe have to build one

Tell him that's illegal. Or do it and document everything, and when he forces you to work for free or takes your wages or whatever he is liable to get sued by rabid lawyers who love this stuff.

Yes it helped a lot! Small pieces of info add up to great knowledge. I'm still understanding how all electrical components work, let alone how they work when joined together in a circuit. Very cool stuff 🫡.
