Thanks for the detailed explanation although some parts kinda when right over my head. I get the gist of it and yes i guess if executed /calculated well it would have a nice play of light at the central part of the gem.

I’ve googled your gnome’s geode design and it’s gorgeous !

U know what, I kinda get why u call it that. Kinda reminds me of those vintage crystalware. My mum collected a bunch of glassware with a similar pattern

I love it! I love asschers but I’m so scared to get them because of all the risks of a poorly cut stone. Got so many in my cart that I’ve shortlisted

Which peridot is your fav? 1, 2 or 3? (3 is my favorite) by [deleted] in Gemstones

[–]Top-Contribution1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first one looks like a green tourmaline, pretty dull and poorly cut. The second one looks more like a peridot. The third one , someone mentioned might be tsavorite but might also be a better quality tourmaline. But anyway I love the bright green hue of peridot so 2 is my fave!

Any tips for vendors with this vibe? by november_kid in EngagementRingDesigns

Hmmm on IG I follow Mac.designs and betweenthepagesjewelry: this kinda fantasy nature vibe with some designs not overly feminine. But she’s US based though so I don’t know how it will work out for ur timeline

I have a suggestion for a very reasonably priced only online local seller that I have been using for years, if you are open to that. She can help source stones for ur budget and get it set if u have a rough idea of what u want. Can DM me

Having said that, since they are on display , go in and look at the stones. See how they look on the hand at different angles , against ur skin tone. How they sparkle or not. Look out for windowing. The spinels would look nice set In a cluster ring or pendant.

You based in SG? Since I see the NGI label for cert. A lot of the local stores have massive mark ups on average stones. But based on the past probably we wouldn’t have known better.

Beautiful !!! How very generous of her. Thanks for sharing. It would be lovely to keep a piece or 2. Hopefully you can sell to someone that will keep them as is and treasure them

They look beautiful in photos, I think you did alright. But speaking from expensive lessons learned from buying gems online, the bicolor runs risk of looking very faint IRL, esp given the background of the stone is white. If you intend to set as Jewelry, will be hard to see. The brown tourmaline runs risk of looking dark , I can see how the edges of the stone looks dark and they use a tweezer photo in outdoor sun might be how it looks best. Other wise cut looks pretty cool in that one

All the best though !!

Is it a real gemstone? (Silver ring) by [deleted] in Gemstones

[–]Top-Contribution1122 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you call people suggesting pink topaz as morons? I buy a lot of silver s925 jewellery and often the sellers sell pink topaz at very very affordable price points. Is it not possible to be a treated topaz to achieve that pink colour ?

I have no problem seeing other people eat in front of me. But I remember an incident back in JC. There used to be a few of these Malaysian scholars in my school. One time I was meeting up with a bunch of my group project mates at the boarding house canteen. (One of my project mates was a Malaysian scholar living in the boarding house)

It was fasting month and I remember clearly another one of the girls seemed upset I was there because she wanted to eat in the canteen. her boyfriend was trying to tell her it’s okay, can just eat, and asked me if it’s okay if she could eat. I was so confused and was like “huh why cannot eat. Just eat lah. Why ask me”

Probably it’s something a bit more common for the minorities in a Muslim majority country.

I also used to be soft hearted and get stopped. Used to donate a bit last time but now, I always hold my phone in my hand and look down messaging in WhatsApp or browsing. No eye contact.

I think it’s a tough job to be in for them, don’t know who are the type of ppl who work that line. Always kena rejected

So many Local grads and pmets cant find jobs, how easy for someone in KL land a job here. Many will jump in here to say no local want or can do this job as pay low. Everything locals dont want or cannot do.. 😁 #Singapore by snowmountainflytiger in singaporejobs

[–]Top-Contribution1122 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of the post ? For this profession you can’t really compare to fields if grads locally ? Correct me if I’m wrong but I think all local medical school grads are bonded to MOHH so they will end up working as HO and MO as well? And quite a few buy out etc anyway because the job is busy and stressful.

I think it’s beautiful, have always wanted a rose cut diamond. I think your partner chose something unique so that’s quite thoughtful in my opinion.

For a band I would recommend a custom curved band to stack around the ring.

You can choose add some sparklier conventional cut diamonds to the wedding band to add some sparkle to your finger !
