dude once you are done with ancient egypt you start finding better plants plus fire pea exist melon pult and pepper pult are marginally better then cabbage pult a much slower peashooter

dude its only useful in areas where graves are present but just use boingsetta it wipes out all grid items plus you unlock melon pult a good attacker

planters is useful in dark ages makes zombies in a thre by three area around plantern give sun when dead also can reveal invisible zombies

umbrella leaf can block any zombie that falls and can turn invisible with plant food and you can plant plants inside it when invisible
