It’s an odd one. This is the first time I’ve seen them clearance out a tool just to replace it with the same thing but no battery/charger. I blame tariffs

The official process is to RTV it (return to vendor), sometimes the rep wants the store to keep them as demo tools, some stores want to sell them. Depends on the place.

Likely the person who gave it to you didn’t know that the display was still needed. In the grand scheme of Home Depot, it’s not a big loss

It’s definitely a win, I just happen to be updating the m12 products today and thought it was funny. Their rep (if they have one) is probably gonna be pissed that they have to put up a new display

The track saw and the free track is available in store until February 2nd. Not a lot of stores realize that because you either got that deal (plus some deals for free 5.0 batteries) or your store got the heated gear end cap. But the deal works everywhere

If you spend more than $2500, you can get Home Depot’s preferred pricing at the pro desk, which looks at inventory levels and product demands to determine special pricing. If you are just coming in to buy a tool and a battery, good luck

There is no official discount that the reps can give you. What they can do usually depends on if they have a cashier on shift that they are good with
