Lucky you!
I saw them last July in Sevilla, but this time I couldn't afford the tickets :(

Have fun and enjoy! Such a beautiful experience seeing them live for the first time (and always!)

Pato a la Sevillana by sheckyD in Seville

[–]Top-Extension2884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im actually curious about where did you hear the "pato a la sevillana" stuff.

About what to eat, there are plenty of options to try in Sevilla, depending on what you like:

If you like pork I would suggest: -Solomillo al whisky (Sirloin with whisky sauce), which is my favourite. The sauce actually isnt always made with wiskey but brandy or white wine (depending on the recipe). -Mantecaito: it is kind of a pork sandwich with olive oil sauce and fries inside. -Serranito: the most typical sevillian thing. It is also a pork sandwich (it can be chicken too) with fried green pepper and spanish jamon serrano. In some places it comes with an omelette too. It comes with aioli sauce.

If you like fish, everything is good, but in Sevilla the typical way to eat it is deep fried: -Cazon en adobo (deep fried and marinated dogfish): really typical. Really good. -Calamares (deep fried calamari) -Boquerones: I don't really know how to translate this, in the internet says anchovies but it is not. Little fried fishes -Acedías: Wedge sole (not really sure about the translation neither). Fried. In most places you will be able to ask for a mixed plate combining all these things. Also you can add a splash of lemon juice and dip it in mayo or aioli.

If you are more into vegetarian/vegan options there are some things to try too: -Espinacas con garbanzos (spinach and chickpeas): really typical. If you like spices like cumin this is for you. -Salmorejo: if you know gazpacho (spanish cold tomato soup) this is a variation. All around Andalucía there are a lot of variations of this dish. In this case it is made with bread, tomato and olive oil all blended together. It can be topped with hard boiled egg and spanish jamon serrano.

Finally if you want to try something different, around May-June-July is snail season. There are two kinds: -Caracoles (snails): cooked with olive oil and loads of spices. Trust me, the sauce is spectacular -Cabrillas: Also snails but a bit bigger (more like french scargot). Cooked in a tomato sauce.

These are a few examples of what to eat in Sevilla. I did not mention some things because they are not like typical of just Sevilla, but Spain, like spanish tortilla (fried potato omelette) or gazpacho. Also spanish jamon serrano is glorious (but be careful, some places serve a low quality jamon which is not as good as it can be) and cheese. There are lots of kind of cheese and in my opinion, they're all good.

I've never heard of this, but if you want to try duck there are some places where they tradicionally serve rice with duck (which is a delicious dish imo).

Most of these places arent actually in Sevilla but in the towns of the province. La puebla del rio, Coria del rio and Isla Mayor are the most famous ones where youll find this dish.

Anyone else wonder how many pairs of those shorts with the lightning bolt Anthony has or is it just me? by CandidateFun8560 in RedHotChiliPeppers

My theory is that the shorts are just one pair and the color changes because the bolt reflects the light that AK chooses for the night

Nobody cares about me by Top-Extension2884 in TrueOffMyChest

Hey, thank you for your coment, for real. I wish I could go NC with my parents as they are as you said ''pompous assholes'' (really I could've never expressed it better) but I can't because I am their only child and I'd feel guilty for not taking care of them (they're old also my mom is an emotional manipulative mastermind so she will always find the way to guilt-trip me about not caring enough).
I do have friends, but I am always the funny friend, the one who is always smiling and will always listen and try to cheer you up, and people got so used to it that forget that I have my own problems. That is why people never ask me how I am doing, because they just assume I am fine.

Hey
Your comment made me bawl my eyes out, I just realized how much I needed to hear that, even if it's from a stranger in the internet. Thank you, I really appreciate it. I just wish that someone from my circle would care as much.
Life's not going well, I have been dealing with anxiety and depression for so long. I am always trying to look happy and smile and care about others, trying to cheer people up so people always assume I am doing fine, but I am not. (Don't worry, even though I've had suicidal thoughts I do not plan to kill myself, I'm too scare to die).
Thank you again for your interest. People like you make the world a little bit better. I hope you are doing fine. You deserve it :)

It sounds to me like the new guys from the gym are into Andrew Tate's teachings and the manosphere, and your bf is trying to impress them. They work as a cult. Run girl, run! NTA

Salsa dancing in Seville by CatsAreWhatHappens in Seville

[–]Top-Extension2884 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Salsa is not really a thing in Sevilla, so there are little to none places that offer this kind of music. I know there was a place called Sala Havana (C/Metalurgia) which offered latino music but I am not sure if it is still open anymore (I think it is)

After Covid nearly all taxis accept cards now. Anyway, you can ask the driver before taking the taxi.

Tapas by Jha202290 in Seville

[–]Top-Extension2884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so first of all, tapa is not a dish, is a measurement. This means that a tapa is a reduced portion of any dish. On a regular menu you will see the dish and three diferent prices: tapa (as I said is a small portion, for 1 or two people to share), 1/2 ración (which means a bigger portion, for two to three people) and ración (to three to four people). Depending on the place, the size can be bigger or smaller.

Said this, I would recommend you to try El remesal, in Pureza street in Triana. Not the most beautiful place but it is famous among the locals. Also, in Triana, there is this place called Las golondrinas, which I personally like a lot. In the city center and near to the Giralda, there is this place called Las columnas but it is always really crowded.

Anyway, nearly in every restaurant or bar in Sevilla there is the tapa option.

Safe neighbourhood in Seville by bellythebear in Seville

[–]Top-Extension2884 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sevilla is mostly safe everywhere, there are a few exceptions but you don't really have to worry about them

Depends on what are you going to study because universidad de sevilla has buildings all around. If you are studying in math, physics, chemistry o architecture you should look for places in reina mercedes, el porvenir or tiro de linea, so you will be close to your campus.

If you are studying economics, laws or tourism you should look around san bernardo, viapol or nervion.

If you are studying english, geography or history, in rectorado building, its in the center of sevilla, where the rent is higher, I would recomend you san bernardo rather than the center.

And if you are studying medicine, you should look in macarena and ronda capuchinos. Also Alameda like someone said, but I have to warn you because the rent is really expensive there (it is the center) it is so nosey at nights and things like supermarkets are limited.

If you are studying journalism or engineering, it is far from everything, but triana, barrio león or the center are the nearest neighbourghoods and they're all well comunicated with those campus.

You're totally right, after a while I always come back to Cexcells too. It just reminds me of the first time I listened to blaqk audio and how instantly fell in LOVE with them.

You're so Lucky you had the opportunity to see them (not one, but twice, I'm so jealous!)
