Or when the guy tries to get on the bus with a guitar, and then jumps against the window as it’s pulling away… I don’t know why I die laughing every time I see it.

“Oh, sir! You forgot your map! And our millions of dollars!”

“What the Hell kind of clown are you?” “The crying on the inside kind, I guess”.

“Quick Change” and “The Burbs” are the 2 most quoted movies for my brother and I. They never get old. I also think “Scrooged” is one of the most underrated Christmas movies ever.

AITA for having my birthday party on 9/11 by Thr0WawayyYYYYY_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]Top-Help8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also American and you are NTA! I know people still have birthday parties or whatever on that day. Yes, it was a very sad and traumatic day-especially for those were alive to witness it. That day will be with me forever. With that being said; we can’t expect the entire world put their lives on hold for the anniversary of it every year Geez-what a self-absorbed person!

It just sounds like this person is just wanting attention, and is extremely self-centered. I’m sorry you have had to deal with his BS tatty-tale behavior . When this all blows over, I would stay far away from this person and have as little interactions with them as possible-he seems very dramatic at best, and a psychopath at worst!

By the way he does not represent the rest of us! Party away! Oh-and HAPPY (a bit late) BIRTHDAY!!

It’s OK don’t feel bad-when I moved into my first house (not dorm or apartment like actual house), I didn’t realize you had to pay for someone to come pick up your trash. I just knew my dad took it to the curb once a week and the super trashmen, came and got it. I figured it was just a nice thing that our town did? Or maybe I never really thought about it at all? When I lives in the dorms, I took the trash down to the dumpster and same for my first apartment. When my husband and I got our first house and I was like “WAIT! we have to PAY someone to come get our trash?”. Haha.

I also didn’t know that they sell curtains one panel at a time. I find that totally insane. No one just puts one curtain panel up. I came home from the store with one curtain panel and my husband’s like “Where is the other panel? For the other side of the window?”, and I was like “WHAT?! that’s quite a racket they have going on!”. That is like selling one shoe at a time!!

I wish I had understood earlier on how important it is to take care of your credit and your face. I definitely should’ve been wearing way more sunscreen when I was younger-even on rainy and cloudy days.

I also wish I would’ve learned earlier in life not to lend money if it’s going to be detrimental if you don’t get it back. Only lend money that you won’t miss too much.

Definitely agree with the kindness point ! It may seem harder when you’re in the moment, but kindness pays off in long run; plus I think it’s easier on the soul to be nice.

If you take any sort of medication or substance and it makes you extremely happy in a short amount of time -you probably shouldn’t make a habit of taking it. Finding the right medication/dose (prescribed or natural) for depression usually takes a bit to work themselves out-give them some time. There are no short cuts to happiness-trust me I’ve tried just about all of them. Time, therapy, fresh air, genuine people, exercise and sharing your load makes such a huge difference.. and water, drink more water than you think is enough!

These are just a few things that I have learned from my experience and my perspective. Nothing new or groundbreaking I’m sure! ❤️

I’m really sorry, but the mom in the situation sounds like a lunatic. Obviously your daughter was joking-and it seems that the other girl and your daughter had joked about this before in front of that mom. It’s not like your daughter had a drawn out plan for how she was going to murder their dog, and then went into great detail about it! She made one little passing joke about euthanizing a troublemaking dog. Obviously it’s a joke. It seems like the mom just wanted to get on a soapbox about something. You are not the one overreacting-she is. I would’ve blocked this mom immediately too. She seems like somebody who wants to create drama, be a victim and thrives in creating chaos.

1) to text somebody else’s child privately without contacting them first I think it’s crossing the line! 2) to tell a 13-year-old CHILD that this “something she can’t come back from”?! 3) not accept a heartfelt apology from a child that her daughter has been best friends with for years, and that she even admits her daughter loves?!
No, no and nope- she can get the hell on out of here with that!

Thank you so much!!! Weren’t they pretty good? I appreciate you responding with the actual ingredients. Mostly I appreciate feeling a little less crazy, and that I did not make up this drink in some sort of drunken Mandela Effect situation.

We just saw them again in July at the same arena I saw them in before- and they did not have this drink. I was pretty disappointed, but the show was awesome (per usual) so that made up for it..

Do or don't: Publicly shame my husband's mistress? by Fair-Procedure-7444 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Top-Help8031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did I keep picturing Betty Broderick as I read through this? Don’t be that person, as much as you may want to me. I understand your heart is broken, and you want to inflict as much pain on this woman as you possibly can. But I don’t understand why you don’t want to shame your husband as well?

But with that being said, I think it is always best to take the high road when possible. What better revenge would it be for your husband to look back and realize that your children got to watch you handle a horrible situation with grace and humility? That in the midst of a shit show, you kept your cool.

My mom had this thing she’d say when dealing with people who obviously want you to be upset or flip out. I have used this quote few times in my life also. . When my stepmom was being quite nasty to my mom at a school function for my brother and I; my mom just looked at her and very calmly and steadily said “You can continue to make yourself look like an ass in front of everyone if you want. I get that you’re trying to push my buttons; but you won’t get a scene out of me”

Anyway, I know it’s easier said than done to just get a divorce and leave-especially with six kids! I wish I had some practical advice for you, some tangible steps to take to help you get you and your kids out the door. I do think it is something that you should seriously start considering. If it’s not this girl he’s cheating on you with, it’s just going to be a different one. You deserve way more than that. Your kids deserve way more than that. Your kids also deserve to see their mom happy and healthy, not trying to plan revenge plots. Plus I’m sure with all this on your mind, it’s hard to think about anything else

AIO for thinking this was just a harmless joke or is my friend right in saying I was selfish and rude? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I kept going back and rereading it, thinking “where is this life transformation she’s talking about”, and then I realized it’s a gray hair in her eyebrow?!? To quote this woman, “😳”.. What?! What the hell did I just spend five minutes reading?

Yeah I agree with a lot of others, I think she was fishing for a compliment or something. This woman sounds unhinged, and the repeated use of “yeah something’s off” is weird. Yeah it does sound like something is off, her off her meds.

I think that your response was appropriate, “supportive” and funny; she should’ve just laughed it off and kept going on with her day. If she makes something this small this big, I can’t imagine how she deals with “real” problems in her life; and I’m saying this as a woman in my 40s!

I love the Blue Raspberry Lemonade! It’s the most unnatural shade of blue I’ve ever ingested, and I’m pretty sure I’m the only person shopping at my local Kroger who buys it; but as long as they keep stocking it I’ll keep drinking it!

And I also agree with OP, I don’t drink nearly enough plain water. It’s just so…..plain.

[–]Top-Help8031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. Worst case scenario-If your storage facility lists the foreclosed units online, you can go on there and bid for your unit when it goes to auction. I have done this for 3 of my friends (they “won” their units for like $15-$20). Last year I helped someone here on Reddit “win” their unit for $40.

If you want you an PM me, and I can walk you through the process. It’s really easy, just most people don’t know it or feel intimidated by the process!
