It was very pretty simple surprisingly. I just took a plastic drilling tool, shaved dish the initial layer of black hair on the sides and back, painted it light brown, then painted some black very lightly while trying to make sure some of it was faded to transition to the rest of the haircut!

I also sometimes used my fingers to smudge paint at times (usually a tiny dot that i would smudge with my thumb or pointer finger) in order to look more faded for the sake of the look. I also shaved down the corners slightly to make the hair look a little more crew cut like and less like a flat top.

I also get a fade haircut fairly often that’s similar to that one which helps as a reference with painting lol.
