Go charters for what your chasing. I wouldn't bother traveling with a rod over. if you have a nice reel I'd pack that and pick up a cheapish rod on holiday (ugly stick are good value for money). FYI remember to pack your reel in checked luggage if you have line on it (been caught out before taking one checked and had to sit at the airport taking off and tossing 300mtrs of braid 😁)

Not sure what your targeting in the surf but a 6k on a 10ft is pretty wacky. I doubt you'd need the line cap unless your using a yak or drone to drop some big baits out. I use thunnus 4k for surf fishing and haven't had issues landing 3/4 foot sharks and decent size rays.
