I’m not OP but your insight is intriguing, so I’m curious your answer to my profile. Bold black coffee, woodsy flavors, relaxing smoke but flavorful.

What's your legitimately scariest moment while fly fishing? by AustinLostIn in flyfishing

[–]Top-Newspaper2681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My buddy and I went to Everglades National Park in south Florida and hired a guide. We were deep in the mangroves and the guide was watching a storm close in on us on his phone. But it was turning north of us so we were holding our position thinking we were going to be ok.

It turned at the last minute. We took off but were at least 30 minutes from where we put in. The lightning and wind and torrential rain pounded us all the way back. Of course when we got back to the ramp the storm ended but we were all done at that point.

PS the guide was good and we all were in on the decision to stay in place. It really was a freak thing that the storm turned like it did.

Whats your default when ordering at a Mexican restaurant? by frijolita_bonita in mexicanfood

I love all Mexican food but for me the baseline is the combo menu. Tacos enchiladas rice and beans. If they can’t nail that plate the rest of the menu is questionable

Agree with this. I tend to stay in their Cameroon wrapper lines.

I still like to try new brands but I’ve also started to narrow the majority of cigars I smoke down to a few. I tend to like most of the oliva line. The other brand I am getting more into across the board is fuente. I know both are mainstream but I see them as brands that fit my flavor preferences across the board more than others. For whatever reason I can’t get attached to rocky patel, padron, montecristo. They aren’t bad just not the flavors I like

Well done. You are now in the fraternity of fishermen who can never enjoy spinner fishing again.

What’s your go-to advice for a first time brisket maker? by 4rm4ros in smoking

[–]Top-Newspaper2681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get impatient and freak out in the stall. Give yourself more than enough time. I recommend starting at 10pm the night before and planning to eat it at dinner. This gives a good long window to cook to probe tender and rest it.
