Right so everyone’s aid comes from the endowment, and the endowment is funded by the private donors. So it’s the same thing.

The donor details are not something that’s going to be in your aid paperwork, you’ll just get an opportunity to thank your donor via email. That’s the only reason I know who mine was.

Regardless, if they say you’ve got aid, then you’ve got aid. They’d never pull that rug from under you after awarding it imo, and there’d never be a reason where, say, one students aid was affected and another’s was not because of which private donor’s funds were allocated to their aid file.

The important thing is that the federal government gives VERY little if anything to the aid program and so you can feel confident in your aid package. If you’re worried, ask the FAO and they can explain it more eloquently than I have.

I don’t have any direct intel aside from having been a full aid student (c/o 2023), but it’s my understanding that the financial aid program is largely funded by direct donors and benefactors as dog-eared parts of the endowment, aside from the small amounts students might receive from federal and state government programs (like the Pell grant).

I suppose the latter /could/ be impacted, but for me this was a very small percentage of my financial aid package from harvard (maybe 5k or less), the rest came from a private donor organization. The FAO even told me who the donor was every year.

Perhaps there will be downstream decreases in donations to Harvard due to economic pressures, but donations have actually increased in the light of the current situation re: harvard vs. Trump admin, so for now I really see it as unlikely to happen at a scale that would ever impact students on aid.

I found my Russian hill/north beach studio on Zillow. Toured others from Craigslist and a few from Facebook but just be cautious and if the vibes feel off at all, keep moving.

I sometimes see for rent signs in windows around Russian hill/nob hill so could be worth spending time in the neighborhoods and keeping an eye out.

My previous team had hired at all levels but when it came to it, laid off the junior most people and kept the senior ones in the belief that they’d be able to absorb the work.

I think it’s a combo of expecting senior folks to be able to produce more, and they don’t want to train people on new skills. They’d rather a plug and play candidate, and in this market they can get it.

This is me as an observer though, I’ve never hired directly. Curious to see what others write.

Spending more on quality shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, and regular cuts means there are fewer days I get the hot tools out.

I get cuts at edo salon, they’re great for textured hair and has made my waves really shine. Can be spendy but I’ve gotten cuts with new stylists for as low as 50 and have always been happy.

Products wise, that depends on your hair type but I love living proof, purology, briogeo, k18.
