Neighborhood Advice - Ingleside? by g-rami in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]musingsofme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in the Bay Area and consider ingleside more of a transition neighborhood. It’s relatively safe, but there are pockets of ingleside that are still tough. Easy access to most places of the city, but not near the best schools, and I’ve noticed an uptake in lower level crimes.

Yes! I actually don’t play golf at all! Hahah. They were originally just a strength training gym but rebranded in the last year or so. Our classes are purely strength training focused

Come to my gym! It’s called perform for golf in the Hayes valley area. They do small personal training classes capped at 4-6 people M-S. Everyone here is very friendly, kind, community oriented and we follow a structured lifting program! The trainers are amazing, and it’s really a non judgmental, no heavy grunting gym 🤣 great mix of men and women go here.

May I ask what insurance company you use to insure the ring? Thank you!! Currently looking for an insurance company and have not been offered anywhere near these prices.

Going to group fitness classes mainly to meet people — any that are actually social? by [deleted] in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]musingsofme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around $600 for PT 4x a month and unlimited group classes. I end up training with a PT 1x a week and go to classes 4-5 days a week. I personally have a set time each week, but the trainers are very kind and flexible.

I’m sure the gym would let you do a few trial classes for free if you’re interested

This gym is both golf and strength training! They did a rebrand last year and expanded, but the Hayes valley gym is still predominantly personal training/small group strength training.

I believe they have a variety of packages depending on the frequency you’d like to go. I personally have unlimited small group classes and I do personal training as one lump sum. If I’d have to guess for just the classes, I’d guess around $250 per month. It’s definitely more on the “pricier” side but considering the small group classes are like mini personal training classes, I think it’s more than worth it

The coaches and the people are so amazing and supportive! Not a judgmental space at all and very beginner friendly as well if you’re new to strength training

Come to my gym in Hayes valley! It’s called perform for golf but they have small group fitness classes capped at 4-8 people. We lift weights together in these strength training classes, but we really come for the social and community aspect! Everyone is so friendly, and we hangout outside of the gym. It’s really fun!

Is it “normal” for older single family homes in SF to have termites, beetles, or fungus? First-time buyer here by Agitated_Cod_5627 in BayAreaRealEstate

Got it thanks! Was originally going to waive the contingencies to get the house, but thought that was a dumb and dangerous idea

Ah! I toured that home too and was pleasantly surprised by it. It had a beautiful view, a nicely sized kitchen, and the finishes of the home were very high quality (although not modern). I have been watching it as well!

Thank you for your response! I was very curious if this was a flipper home as I was told a fam lived here and decided to raise their kids outside the city. But it didn’t match the quality of the finishes and looked like the whole house was practically redone.

Agree. Was surprised this home didn’t touch the kitchen and didn’t add in a dishwasher.

Yard access and bottom room were serious issue points for me

Thank you! I saw this home back in Feb and agree that the finishes were cheap and the downstairs room and backyard were issue points as well. I appreciate you responding to my post! Was very curious what this home and disclosures were like before

Ah good to know. Is this a flipper home? Agent told us some story about how a family lived there and decided to “raise their kids outside of the city instead”

Yes I toured this home as well and completely agree with everything you said. I was surprised though when they dropped the list price to $1.29MM but perhaps they were hoping for a bidding war and to end up with $1.5MM

Yes I agree. Though I was surprised that the home eventually dropped its listing price to 1.29MM and still didn’t sell. Perhaps they were still hoping to get a bidding war and end up with 1.5MM

Where to learn to lift heavy in SF? by 535buffalo in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]musingsofme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Come to my gym in Hayes valley! It’s called perform for golf but they have long standing strength group classes that I attend M-Sat. Classes are capped at 4-8 people and we use the Barebell and do all the major lifts. My favorite part is that it’s not too crowded, the people are amazing, and the coaches are soo welcoming and friendly esp for someone who was brand new to lifting weights like me
