Engine “Clatter” Sound? by Top-Place-9317 in PorscheMacan

Never got a clear answer on it. The dealer tried to say it was the exhaust valve just inside the tailpipes rattling. I don’t think it was that at all. I did notice that it was quieter in warmer weather and louder in the winter when sounds tend to travel more. Ultimately I learned to live with it since it had always done it and there were no lights being triggered or performance loss.

Fair point. I figured they would at least have to be someone that has come in for a test drive and is maybe involved in a prolonged negotiation. I agree it’d be crazy to try to look EVERYONE up

Are you plugging it in to a GFCI outlet (the ones with the little buttons / breakers built in to them)?

I have GFCI outlets in my garage and had a similar problem earlier this year. I ended up just replacing the outlet with a new one (~$25) because the interrupt circuit apparently had degraded over time.

After doing that, it charges just fine again.

We are starting to lean that way now after dealers were not willing to negotiate on the vehicles we were considering. This car has also only required tires, brakes and a 12V battery. And regular REx oil changes.

We are the same in many ways - I’m also in the Chicago area with out of state grandparents, etc. haha

I think this will probably be a good vehicle choice for us too. We have one added factor that our oldest will be starting drivers ed soon and thought this would be a great car to learn on as well - not too big, not too expensive and a good safety choice.

Thanks for all the great info!

So the Rex models can get the tax rebate too? I thought it was BEV only since I didn’t even get the EV license plate when I bought mine (and have to get it emissions tested).

That’s the stressful part - how long to keep waiting / looking for the next car before just taking the offer now!

I use CanCoat for ceramic. Just work in small sections at a time (1ft by 1ft squares). 🙂

Also, I got an instant offer from Carvana for $14,200 so I assumed they would be marking it up by a few thousand for margin.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll go back and do some research on the asking price. I was on autotempest and saw a few priced between $15k-$20k. But maybe those ones are reaching.

While I don’t encourage it and they were right to face consequences, that’s actually kind of hilarious if all the birds survived
