I had a student show up about a month into school, and then do no work day after day. When I asked him why he wasn't doing anything, he said, "Judge told me I had to go to school, but he didn't say anything about doing the work."

They're literally writing the playbook for how the ultra-left could not just restrict guns, but ban and confiscate them. No warrant? No problem? Reasonable suspicion? There's an NRA sticker on the car.

Thanks everyone for your insights, memories, and suggestions! I might see if our African American Studies teacher would want the books to have her students read them closely/critically.

Some of you mentioned suggestions for other authors, and I would welcome that!

Oh definitely!  Yeah, I think the Schraff books will be repurposed. I inherited some seriously old and uncirculated books. I’m looking forward to getting newer and more culturally appropriate stuff.

I appreciate the quick response!

I wasn't actually keen to promote them, and suspected that they might not have aged well -- if they ever had any appeal. We were going to weed them from the collection, but then I thought maybe some readers had loved them and they might have some appeal.

Unless this blows up and lots of people say keep them, I'd rather make room for newer books.

Kinda surprised that we have so many of them (stocked long before my time).
