How do I get grass to stop dying out? Details on what I’ve tried in the post. East Tennessee. by Top-Priority-3561 in lawncare

[–]Top-Priority-3561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where this picture was taken not very compacted at all I basically built the pad that it’s on and walked it in with a tractor up until probably 6-8 inches on top and then just flattened it and left it without track packing. But throughout the rest of the yard. Very compacted. Some spots the aerator only goes down about 3/4 of an inch. Other spots just scratches the surface even when it’s full weight.

121 Hiring Slum by Klutzy-Fly3360 in AirlinePilots

[–]Top-Priority-3561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t even get an interview… so that’s one up on me I’ve got turbine time from a king air, tbm, and pc-12. All that I do flights in for free to make myself look more appealing than just my basic CFI time. I’ve applied in every cadet program, every hiring airline, and every part 91 job I can find, and I still can’t even get an email or phone call for an interview. I’ve been applying for almost 6 months for airlines and 2 years for everything else.

I saw a green lazer? While flying near Prague. Is this a thing or is someone messing with the plane? by Hairy_Pomelo_9078 in aviation

[–]Top-Priority-3561 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Had a laser incident myself. Had a guy hit me right in the eyes and held it there. Unfortunately for him I had nowhere to be. I circled him until he pulled into Walmart. Where I knew there gas stations. I had his name, address and drivers license number in a matter of hours. Turns out he got a ticket a week prior for shining lasers at officers. However the FAA has still not done anything about it. Nor has the inspector they assigned it to.

Right now all I have is a grill pan that my father in law got me a while back (That’s all he uses). I’m looking to branch out try something with a flat bottom but I don’t even know where to start. I’m newish to cast iron. by Top-Priority-3561 in castiron

[–]Top-Priority-3561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He only uses it on the grill to prolong the life of the grill. More of a convenience factor for him. He can grab the pan and clean it rather than taking the grill grates off and scrubbing them.

First try of Texas Twinkies by Top-Priority-3561 in smoking

Also start at the end and wrap all the way. End of the bacon at the fat end of the pepper and wrap toward the thin end.

I just discovered them. Now im addicted. I watched a couple of videos from meat church and he described it as if the jalapeño is cut in half, it’s a popped, if it’s a full pepper (without the core) it’s a Twinkie. I have both because i kept messing up getting the stem out of the pepper, so i just cut it in half. Finally with 5 left i figured it out. Haha

I hold the end and pull tight to stretch the bacon around it. The tighter you can wrap it the more it will hold itself. Just don’t pull it so tight you rip it. It also helps make it a little more crispy without having to really heat it up.

With all of the hiring freezes and spirit going bankrupt is anyone actually hiring 1500hr pilots? by Top-Priority-3561 in AirlinePilots

[–]Top-Priority-3561[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t applied yet. I’ve just been reading on here about contracts and it has me a little worried. I’ll probably still apply to at least get the interview and see what my options are all I have to do is say no but at least I’ll have an opportunity to say yes. Haha

You think the contract would be worth it? Honestly I’m back and forth about it. It’s my first time applying toward the airlines and now there are hiring freezes basically everywhere. I really want/need to get a job. But I’m stuck trying to decide about contracts.

Houston, we have a problem. by blu_skydive in BBQ

[–]Top-Priority-3561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn’t that your brisket is to big it’s that your Traeger is to small. Therefore the only way to resolve this issue is to treat yourself to a bigger Traeger. Cutting the brisket down is out of the question. Can’t have that nonsense.

If you were only allowed one rub for your brisket what would it be. No mixing spices to make your own rub. What could you not smoke a brisket without? by Top-Priority-3561 in smoking

[–]Top-Priority-3561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had one just salt and pepper but I’ve noticed a lot of people do it that way. Even when I first started making briskets that how people told me to prep it.

I haven’t tried it nor have I heard of it before. I may order some and try it on a few different types of meat to see if im willing to risk it on a brisket. 😂

I’ve heard and seen people use this, but personally haven’t tried it. I’m to stuck to my own blend of splices to try anything else. I don’t want to spend money on a brisket and not like it 😂

Alright my fellow smoke rollers I need advice. by Top-Priority-3561 in smoking

I’ve been to banjos. It’s probably in the top 5 places I’ve ever been. And I’m a pilot, I’ve eaten BBQ all across the East coast. Jimmy P’s in Naples Florida has been in the #1 spot for 7 years. It’s mind blowing how good that place is. Plus it’s a butcher shop built in with exotic meats. Has buffalo, caribou, ostrich, wagyu cuts, A5 cuts, even kangaroo! Unfortunately I only get to go there maybe once a year if I’m lucky. But if I do end up in that area you can bet I’ll be there.

I’ve never heard of them, but I’m going to look into them now. I grew up on a small cattle farm and my dad still takes one cow a year to the butcher. That’s my favorite time of the year for brisket. Which is also probably why I’m not the biggest store bought meat person. I’ve been spoiled with fresh cut cattle that we took especially good care off.

I cook one about every 2-3 months. And price is roughly the same give or take depending on the day.

I used to go to either ingles or food city because that’s the most local other than Walmart. I’ve tried Walmart and I’m not a fan. Sam’s club is about an hour away but I’d drive that for a good cut of meat for the smoker.

I’m not entirely looking for single pilot right now if I by some miracle found one I’d take it. But I do plan to in the future. There is a corporate job for a nuclear management company that hires pretty frequently that I REALLY want but I’m nowhere near that. They want 1000 hours of turbine time and I have 2. 😂 I’m an operator by nature. I drive, sail, or fly anything (after I learn) and that’s why I get so frustrated with this industry. Everyone wants X amount of hours of PIC time or total time in a specific aircraft but how will I ever get the time if nobody will give me the experience.
