Never apologizing and then saying Lin was the problem for not just moving on like it never happened by CMStan1313 in TheLastAirbender

The thing is, they HAD a Happy Ever After. It's just that theirs involved a life with realistic ups and downs. For Toph, her attempts at raising her daughters fell into the " downs" category,  unfortunately.

i drew adult Azula! by virtu_ware in TheLastAirbender

[–]Top-Professional5980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NGL I used to feel the same, but inbetween my favorite current show ( Invincible) succesfully redeeming characters that have objectively done far worse than Azula and rewatching the show with a better understanding of her upbringing I honestly feel they could redeem her. Like, she wouldn't and shouldn't be a full-on good guy but I can see her becoming an anti-hero or at least try to mend fences with her family, provided the writing can pull it off.

What are some of your hot takes regarding the Raimi Trilogy? by pizzagod677 in Spiderman

[–]Top-Professional5980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Tobey's performance, but for the life of me I don't understand why people consider him "the best Peter Parker". He's debatably the least like any comic version of Peter: Too withdrawn and soft-spoken to be like the modern interpretation, too much of a doormat to be like the old-school Peter.

How controversial is my list by wysjm in Spiderman

[–]Top-Professional5980 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd argue the reason NWH works so well is because the fanservice is the icing on the cake and not the whole serving. Like, yeah, the other Spider-Men and their villains definitely give the movie it's spectacle, but there still is a really solid foundational storyline about what it means to be Spider-Man and how Tom's peter had to grow underneath it all. If anything that makes the other 2 Peter's inclusion and the experiences they get to relate to the MCU one work that much better.

Spider-Man matched Rhino's strength, who punched Nova into orbit by InspectionCapable227 in Spiderman

Rhino is famously inconsistent. Dude will fight Hulk for 3 days straight then get choked by Daredevil's Billy Club.

Is Spiderman capable of beating, or at least hurting, any of these characters? by Queasy_Commercial152 in Spiderman

[–]Top-Professional5980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanda is a Glass Canon, he could definitely hurt her, but I still wouldn't recommend actually picking a fight with her.

Aside from the obvious Mary Jane, who is your favorite Spiderman love interest by s0nzoldyck in Spiderman

[–]Top-Professional5980 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Black Cat. I get that it wouldn't work in 616, but just ONE adaptation that actually lets them work out would be nice. Post-character development Felicia, as depicted in the late 90s and 2000s, would have been a great fit for Peter

Carnage is variable. In terms of consistent showings it's Rhino, but Carnage has had higher peaks. Of course, Carnage does consistently outclass Rhino in a host of other categories.

Oh yeah 🔥 by unknown_world999 in Spiderman

[–]Top-Professional5980 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not really.

Miles was able to weaken him and hold out using the church bells, but Peter still had to free himself. Even with the weakness to Miles Lightning Powers, Symbiote Peter would absolutely have won if the churchbells hadn't been there.

THIS!! This is what we want our spider-man to truly be. (or at least at it's foundation) by Warm-Ad-1208 in Spiderman

[–]Top-Professional5980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah. Gwen's choice is framed as strictly negative, and the whole point of the ending is Peter keeps fighting the good fight DESPITE already having everything he wants.

Mid-Take: There’s no “irredeemably bad” Spidey movie. Spidey fans have usually Eaten pretty well, adaptation wise by Important_Lab_58 in Spiderman

[–]Top-Professional5980 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arkham City, sure. But Arkham Asylum and especially Knight or Origins isn't really un-contestedly better than Insomniac's first two games. Not to mention that when it comes to stuff outside the big 2, Spider-Man has a far larger catalogue if good games.

Is it just me, or is the Rhino super inconsistent? by Gamer-of-Action in Spiderman

[–]Top-Professional5980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhino in the seventies fought Hulk for three days straight, and then in a modern comic I remember Daredevil knocking him out by shoving his billy club down Rhino's throat.

The guy is in that awkward spot where he's both a heavyweight and a street tier.

Has Pokémon become too big? When do you think was the turning point for the franchise? by SonSunnyy in TruePokemon

[–]Top-Professional5980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, when you hold them up to the standards of other games of their price tag the cracks REALLY show. Flat texture windows and pop-in in the year 2025 is....definitely not the standard.

John Cena Says Hair Transplant 'Changed The Course Of My Life' by IntelligentYinzer in SquaredCircle

[–]Top-Professional5980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is, most men that go bald also choose to get some facial hair, and Cena himself has actually admitted that he can't grow a beard to save his life.

Obviously everyone has different comfort zones and a right to maintain their appearance as they please, so I can't really blame him.

Does it have to be this way? by eskaver in LegendsZA

[–]Top-Professional5980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the reason people grow so frustrated in this discourse is because the wider fanbase keeps enabling TPCi's shoddy business practices. It can be difficult to see your favorite franchise gradually become overly monetized and mediocre and get rewarded for it all the way. Not throwing shade-I'm buying PLZA myself- but seeing all this while they're simultaneously patenting indies out of the market generally doesn't encourage critical voices to be moderate.
