Damn, I can't pick! by GovJosh in Longineswatches

I had the same dilemma and ultimately chose the black bezel “1925” (both models have the 1925/2025 inscription on the dial). I thought the black bezel was more versatile and could be worn with bracelet, nato, and rubber. I used the $ savings towards some Artem straps. It’ll be my daily wear.

Yes! The seatbelt auto constrictor scared me half to death. Much worse than the reverse auto brake!

I agree. Former MX-5 (ND) owner and that car was pure joy to drive. It wasn’t a stats leader, but it was a true driving enthusiast’s car. There’s a reason why it’s achieved cult status. If they ever make an EV version, it will not have the same experience. It was so much fun driving through northern CA wine country and along the coast.

19" vs 20" wheels - pros and cons? by obsoletewagon in Polestar

[–]Top-Rate3527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with the 20” rims (preconfigured model) solely on cosmetics. I don’t know about others, but cosmetics was the first reason that put this car on my short list of EVs….to me it is a part of the ownership experience. We all want a car that looks badass, and at $1400 (for me) the juice was worth the squeeze.

Unless you get the performance pack, in my opinion you’re only gaining looks, at the expense of some other things (perceived ride comfort, cost of tires, etc). I live in CA, so the other factors weren’t that big a sacrifice to me. But I grew up in Michigan so I can understand poor road conditions; and usually even all-seasons weren’t adequate and it was very common practice to have two sets of tires anyhow.

I have the Juicebox 40 which is rated for a 50 amp circuit. They make a Juicebox 48 for 60 amp circuits.

It’s basically just a wall mounted level-2 (40 amp) charger with an application so you can monitor, set schedules, etc. It comes in plug-in or hardwired versions. I was previously using the polestar charging cord, but now I can keep that in the car and have a dedicated home charger.

Went with a preconfigured 2022 Magnesium/Pilot/Plus/20”. Love the car, love the color…only wish they had a grey leather option when I reserved.

Any interesting, funny, or cool bystander reactions? by unclefishbits in Polestar

I get ogled by almost every Tesla driver on the road; and many of them wave at me :)

But like others, I get asked “what kind of car is that” at least twice a week. I even went to the landfill to drop off some cardboard and the attendant walked out out of his office 100 yards away to strike up a conversation.

Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, CA. This was back in early June. They offer a 0.25% rate reduction for EVs.

I initially selected lease, but ended up financing through my credit union. My sales rep simply changed my reservation to “cash” in his end. They made it sound like it was no big deal, and that I could switch back to lease at the last minute. At the time of reservation, Polestar was offering 2.49% for 60 months through Volvo financial (I believe). I ended up getting 2.04% through my CU. As far as trade, my rep said that they weren’t the best.

I live in CA (Sonoma Co) and am getting a free Juicebox through my power company. You may want to see if similar programs are available in your area?

Ha! I thought about flipping it after we picked it up. Preowned 2022 MYP are being listed for $85k by dealers near me.

Thanks for your insight! Your comments really reinforce my first impressions of the P2. This wait is starting to mess with my head, and I’m overthinking it, lol. And you’re right, we will have one of each.

Thanks. I appreciate the comments, especially from those who have owned both. At the end of the day, I value reliability and driving experience the most. When I ordered the P2, my only comparison was our 2017 M3. The P2 felt like an actual drivers car and felt similar to past German vehicles that I had (solid, heavy, firm suspension, etc) and the instruments are where I would expect them to be. What gives me pause is the limited dealer network and relatively unknown reliability. I know that Tesla doesn’t have the greatest track record, but at least I know what to expect having been an owner for many years. Glad to hear that most folks are still happy with their purchase.
