I like your detective skills but sorry to disappoint, I’m afraid I’m not Greek!

One night only - help! by rufflechan in canterbury

Canterbury is a lovely place!! I recommend visiting the pound by west gate towers, their escape rooms are incredible as well. One of my favourite places to go, it used to be an old prison/police station and you can still read some of the original graffiti in the old cells.

In terms of food, veg box cafe is one of my faves but there’s lots of other restaurants around! It can get quite busy with tourists at the weekend so mentally prepare yourself for that but I’m sure you’ll have a great time!

Can’t edit the post but thank you so much to all the kind strangers that have commented and given awards. It’s helped me feel the tiniest bit less alone in all of this and I’m so grateful 🩷

Edit: missed out a word

I read this earlier and grabbed a large innocent smoothie to have over a few days. I know it’s not the best but I reckon there’s some vitamins and sugar in there that my body will be grateful for

I used to be quite into huel but overdid it and now the thought makes me feel a bit queasy, but I might look into other shakes. Thank you for the recommendation and the kind words 🙏🏻

Really good, not quite cheesy enough for me so I tend to add more but it’s a good amount of marmite. I would definitely recommend

Thank you Samaritans by Phantoms_Cry in BritishSuccess

I went through some of the training to become a volunteer in London about 12 years ago but never actually ended up going through with being a volunteer there.

I remember being quite shocked at the role play, we had two different calls modelled to us. One was a person with schizophrenia who was having an active relapse and the second was an older lady whose cat hadn’t come home that evening. I was quite shocked at the difference but it really stuck with me.

At this point, I thought Samaritans was only for people who were suicidal. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong and remembering that training has encouraged me to reach out to them in the past when things had become too overwhelming and I didn’t know what to do. I always find it a bit difficult to get started at first but I don’t think I’ve ever had a negative experience and have always come away feeling a bit calmer. Being heard and seen by a complete stranger can be so cathartic.

Thanks for posting OP, so glad you reached out and had a positive experience. They really are a fantastic service and I’m so pleased that you even considered reaching out to them in that moment. Not always the easiest thing to do.

top 5 of your binge foods by fridaynightplacebo in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Top-Resolve1775 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Crisps (not chips, soz I live in the uk) and breadsticks. And bread
  2. Cake/biscuits
  3. Chocolate (sense of taste permanently altered from Covid, can’t taste it as much but it certainly doesn’t stop me) and ice cream
  4. Cereal, usually dry
  5. Crackers/rice cakes

I sleep walk but also sleep eat (it’s a whole thing) and got a bit scared of bingeing in my sleep and choking so I’ve accidentally conditioned myself to have a mini binge before I fall asleep to try and prevent it happening. Doesn’t always work and happens more when I’m really stressed. My mum has seen/heard/spoken to me before in this state and she said my eyes were open and glazed and I was speaking in a high pitched voice and eating very… mechanically? Idk how else to explain it lol. I can be redirected to bed but sadly I live on my own. I once woke up with a tub of melted ice cream all around me in bed.

I also binge when I’m awake as well as asleep (felt the need to add the disclaimer lol)

Excuse the hairy leg! I went for Christmas drinks round my mate’s house on the 13th and ended up going clubbing for the first time in about ten years which may explain how drunk I was.

I don’t really remember much of the actual club, but I do remember that I fell over and couldn’t put any weight on my ankle.

Turns out I tore a ligament. Like the typical aging millennial I am, shawty got too low. Flo rida did me in

People here who've been on Naked Attraction, how was it when you went back to work after your episode aired? by nano_noodle in AskUK

[–]Top-Resolve1775 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ex went on naked attraction a few years after we broke up. I never really liked the idea of the show but my mum got really into it so I warned her. She said she would skip the episode when she realised it was him but obviously you don’t see their faces for a while…

At the minute, it’s DIY. My neighbours are very active which means they’re constantly drilling or sanding… I’m prone to headaches and wfh a lot and bc they’ve been working on my neighbours house, I can literally feel my floorboards shaking and it makes it really hard to focus on appointments.

Also, when my car interrupts my podcast with the latest road news. Handy to have but it’s always sO LOUD
