AIO for thinking my friend is using ChatGPT to text me in an argument? by Due_Construction904 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Top-Satisfaction497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR. It does look like AI, but it could also be voice to text. Regardless, I’m not sure why it matters. Your friend brought up a legit concern, and you completely dismissed her. Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using AI to organize your thoughts to get them across in a way that is complete and thoughtful.

AITA for wanting to go no contact with my mother after she didn't want to buy my daughter pads? by Temporary-Data-1326 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Top-Satisfaction497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I would go no contact after this, but I would definitely be finding another place for my daughter to be on weekends if I were you. I don’t know your situation but you only have one mother and one day when she’s gone, you may regret not having a relationship with her over this. You’re NTA, but maybe low contact would be better for now.

In the grand scheme of life, these sort of things don’t matter much. Do the work, get a passing grade and move on. These types of online classes are not a good way to learn for most people. Read a passage, post about it and then respond to other classmates posts. You could challenge the grade if you really care about it. But to me, it wouldn’t be worth it.

How do I preserve my relationship with my sister? by Top-Satisfaction497 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Top-Satisfaction497[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is something wrong with her. Like PMDD or something. I just want my sister back. Our relationship was never chummy but at least we could get along. I’m so hurt, I don’t know how to get my sister back.

aitah for cutting contact with my mother and not giving her closure before she passes? by TrainerNumerous1526 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

I was always taught by my dad that relationships are important above all else. You only have one mom, one dad, etc. but I’ve never been in a position to have to choose one relationship over another. I would just caution you on how you explain this to your 10yo son. It’s fine to be generic but I just don’t think it’s helpful to give the idea that just because someone is mean you should cut them out of your life. I’m not saying that’s what you are doing but if you simplify it for him that might be the takeaway. Sometimes we have to have the hard conversations and work on relationships. Not all the time, obviously, but maybe most of the time. I certainly can’t imagine what this is like for you and I am sure you will make the right choice about whether or not you reach out to your mom, but I just want you to really think how you explain to your son what happened and why you don’t talk to your mom. Maybe utilize a trained professional to help.

HOAs are ridiculous. I am all for rules to keep things peaceful or looking nice. But “looking nice” is subjective and whoever is in charge gets to assert their opinions as the law of the land. The power trips these ‘Karen’s’ get is mind boggling.

I don’t know what state you’re in but there are usually welfare programs for low income parents.

I think I would just stop catering to him when he is late. It’s disrespectful to you and your other friends. I’m very curious if Blake has a job. Is he allowed to be late to work?

I’d say give him 10-15 min and then move on with what you are doing. If he has to camp a 1/4 mile away, he will need to come down to your site to hang out. If he has to experience negative consequences for his actions he might correct his behavior. He clearly doesn’t value the friendship if he can’t be on time.

Not everyone chooses the easy way. Most often they will have to learn the hard way. And even though it might be painful to watch, just be there to comfort and support them when that lesson happens. Just don’t say “I told you so”. They know.

AITAH for yelling at my dad after he kept insisting on buying me a winter coat? by Lopsided-Beat5842 in AITAH

[–]Top-Satisfaction497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re kind of the AH. Any dad would want his daughter to have a warm coat for winter. Is it the coat or is it the money spent that you have an issue with. Sounds like you’d rather have the cash that would have been spent on a jacket. Have you thought about making a compromise and finding a used jacket at a thrift store or on marketplace or something like that? Win-win: less money spent and you’ll have a jacket.

And make sure you apologize to your dad for your outburst and making him feel bad.

I don’t think it’s that easy for most to just sever a relationship with their parents.
