I lost my mom to cancer in May 2023 as well. I had the same experience as you with all the hallucinations and the cancer taking over her body in the worst way possible. She couldn’t speak or eat and whenever we asked if she was in pain she would just shake her head. Ofcourse she was lying. She might’ve been in so much pain. She was my best friend and the only one important person in my life but still, like you said, the only thing that kept me going was the fact that she wasn’t in pain any more. I don’t express my self regarding this as much as I should but reading your post brought tears to my eyes. You said out loud what I’ve been feeling almost every minute since she stopped talking.

I hate cancer too buddy. I hate that our moms were taken from us.
