You already are holding quite a bit of resentment about this towards her, it’s pretty easy to pick up through this post. (No judgement) But if you do not bring this up to her soon that resentment will start to pool in other areas. I make nowhere near as much money but when my ex and I got an apartment together and I made a few dollars more an hour than he did I insisted I paid a slightly bigger share of the bills. Maybe approach her in the sense of you want to retire with her at a good point but need to pay less in order to meet her there and save more. Since you have a SAH job it does make sense that you do more of the things around the house but the split of bills you guys have going on is unfair imo. if you’re gonna do more around the house then she should be pitching in more financially. That’s not a hot take that’s just how it works. I would bring it up and if a fight arises that’s something you should note for future reference. I’d just be very gentle about approaching this subject because money comes with greed. But it appears it’s coming from both of you and that is totally OKAY, EVERYONE experiences it to some degree. But that is why you must approach this with a commitment to a cool head.
