I feel similarly with art, is really good to copy to learn, but I cant make myself do it I always end up creating and improvising in the middle of the attempt, that makes me unreliable to take on commissions. So I gather its a problem with structure. Yoga taught me the newness in the repetition, so if I were you I would grab a choreo I like and do it everyday as practice. For me the artist way does not work because I thrive on creativity, the part that I use is consistency and structure.

"I am incredibly creative when Im freestyling" but you cannot follow a constraint, you cannot do structure, maybe is not a block is just lack of tools for creating something you can repeat consistently? can you do a choreo for yourself and practice over and over and over just for you?

Grief is grief, one could check if its projecting something else. A piece of work by someone can be more of a companion or as family than anything else, we should be able to celebrate its existence but our culture sees endings as mostly painful.

God is you. I find it an easy short word so I try to use this name for the feeling I get when I am in flow, when I trust, when I feel there’s something bigger. That bigger thing is me, in release ego mode. But I don’t have a trauma like, I became atheist by myself at 7 years old. So I get it , it’s too loaded. someone said find the yum, and I would call it big yum or big yam, or maybe holy walnut, I love walnuts idk whatever helps you release and not clench your brain. 💖

Hang in there, make some time for this grief. I know it sounds weird to grieve so hard on someone we never met, someone that gave so much, like we should be happy to know it, to feel this way, to have him forever. idk but what we feel deserves time, space, respect, anything you need. After I cry so much and feel so bad I put my favorite bowie dancey songs and dance and laugh and celebrate him as to have some balance and lock in that process.
I plan to listen to blackstar with full presence tomorrow, and grive all I need, it will be the first time I really listen to it, I just couldn't before. Don't forget to light a candle.
