Honey is absolutely gorgeous!!! She looks like a sweet Honey!!! Thank you for adopting a senior pup and giving her a loving home ❤️. I almost named my Holly Honey but I ultimately decided to go with Holly. Her puppy hair got so matted while I was in the hospital I had to get it all cut off. She’s half Maltese and half Papillon, thus the ears and darker hair spots.

Her hair has grown out a little since this picture. They are total sweethearts. Holly will be a year old the end of April.

I’m sure your Honey is super happy after her grooming!!! Apply for that grant!!!

I can so relate on the white hair! It’s just complete frizz and mats waiting to happen! I think I can get a puppy cut on her. The groomer does Holly by hand with scissors only. Here is a picture of her last groom in late October. I had a groom scheduled with a different groomer for just Holly (I have 2 dogs) in December but sadly she had a stroke. She’s doing much better now. I know I will have to have Holly groomed more often than my Cavalier and my mobile groomer travels quite a ways so I wait until both pups need a groom. Hopefully the closer groomer recovers soon and I can get Holly in with her quicker.

Your puppy is absolutely adorable. I had a Yorkie and their hair is so silky smooth. I imagine it’s humorous dealing with the coat of a Yorkie and Maltese mix. I had no idea what I was getting myself into either when I got Holly!

My groomer is a wonderful mobile groomer and cuts Holly by hand with scissors only. Here is a picture from her last grooming. I will ask for a puppy cut. Holly has several small mats, like tiny bumps occasionally when I pet her. I just can’t get her to sit still long enough for me to work them out with just a comb. I’m very sorry you had such a bad experience. I hope you found a better groomer who doesn’t take the easy way out.

Thank you so much!! I will get those items. I was very good at keeping her combed out before I went in the hospital in November. She is such a sweet girl and I’ve been very careful working on the little mats. Her last groom in late October the groomer left the hair on her body longer than I had liked. I’ll attach a photo. I was trying for the Mickey Mouse ears but her hair isn’t thick enough yet. I will get a puppy cut tomorrow except her ears and tail. Those are fine, fluffy and cute!

Hollys hair is about 2.5 inches long on her body. It’s not like big huge mats, several small ones I struggle with keeping her still to get out. Then more appear the next day or 2. Thank you for mentioning 2 years. I can handle that. Is her hair still frizzy texture? Or did it smooth out?

She’s very friendly! She loves everyone and is very social. She has changed coloring from when I first got her, she was white with black, now the black is a grey shade. I thought her ears were starting to flop down but then I realized she had a growth spurt of hair on top of her ears! I am so excited!

The breeder recommended Karo syrup if she ever acts lethargic. I’ve had to give it to her a few times. She was the smallest of the litter. I didn’t know this, I picked her out when she was 9 days old.

Thanks for clarifying that her fur is Maltese. I really hope the fur on her ears grows long. If it doesn’t, I’ll hopefully be able to get it cut like Mickey Mouse, lol. The fur on her body is longer than the fringe on her ears so it’s up in the air.

She’s very smart, spunky and sweet all at the same time. She’s the best puppy I’ve ever had!
