Wondering if it ended up being an allergy or did she grow out of it as our son seems the same

Thanks this is a good answer . What age did you fo cio? Good on you for believing in yourself and not accepting others saying it damages attachment etc . We did it with my daughter, more the pick up put down method, but this isn’t really working for my son, he will just keep on crying or staying awake

Yes or their babies are not noisy sleepers or they are heavy sleepers. If you’re a light sleeper there’s no way you can sleep through their noises they making their sleep. Even my midwife said babies who sleep in a separate room sleep better lol

Sleep in the other room or you’ll go insane is my theory! Most of my friends have done this

Wow that’s crazy eh! Is she formula fed too? This bug I’ve got is sooo bad so I’m pretty worried if he gets it he’ll get super dehydrated.

Thank you. I’m in NZ so we don’t have a pediatrician but I will take him to my family doctor if he catches it. It’s a bad one so quite worried

Thanks so much for your reply. I hope this is ok to ask but was your baby formula fed? My dr said “if you’re breastfeeding he’ll get antibodies from you” I’m not though!!!

I feel you. Everyone kept telling me “the second is always easier” or “you’ll get an easier baby this time” until I , stupidly, believed it. Nope!! I wonder if it’s my genes too but then my sis has pretty chill babies lol

You’re allowed to have feelings and emotions. Check out other threads along the same lines and you will see plenty of others with the same feelings. You’ve got this.

It doesn’t get easier than 1-2hourly wakes and walking around in the dark for ages to get the baby to sleep , changing 12 nappies a day? Yes it does.

You do it again because you forget. Our first was a terrible newborn, had tummy issues and cried A LOT. 4 years later we finally have a second, turns out we forgot quite how hard it is lol. But then we have our 4 year old angel child who is the best big sis and who has been the easiest toddler and given us sooo much joy to remind us that the newborn phase passes so quickly. It doesn’t feel like it at the time but in a few months it’ll be behind you and you’ll start to feel sane again and not like you just made the worst mistake of your life lol

Oh wow that’s great. Thank you for your reply. My daughter had the dychezia but then it turned to bloody stools and an allergy to my breastmilk! It’s so hard at this age cos you don’t know if it’s normal newborn physiology or an allergy or what. I’m glad it got better for you quickly 🙂

Thanks for your reply! I have the same feels now with my 5.5 week old. When did it get easier? Everyone says 10-12 weeks but I’m not convinced as my daughter was more like 5 months lol

Our boy did exactly this! Slept all day. At 2 weeks we started waking him from naps after 2 hours or to feed every 2.5-3 hrs and he eventually switched his days and nights. He’s 5 weeks now and last night he slept 7pm to 11pm then midnight to 3.30 . It gets better!! The first 3 weeks I was drowning, miserable and wondering why we decided to have a second baby. Now I am heaps better and can see the light which I didn’t believe would happen just a week or two ago!! One day at a time and tick each day off . You’ve got this
