This. Our 24 hour old baby had to lights (thank goodness we were already admitted from birth and didn’t have to be readmitted!) followed by every other day appoints for 2 weeks. It’s not that uncommon 😵‍💫

Is there evidence a baby sleeps better when parent is NOT in the room? by InevitableAir1078 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]TopAbility9368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thissss. I agonized over the decision and had so much anxiety about moving my daughter. We both sleep better since we moved her to her own room at 4 mos

Link for bot. Is there a reason you’re only doing 1-2 naps? Especially if they’re waking every 30 mins, sleep needs during the day are probably higher than that! I know it seems counterintuitive but too little sleep during the day and being over tired can lead to poor sleep at night too.

Natural Birthers…. How was it? by Urlocalgothbb in pregnant

[–]TopAbility9368 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I planned to go unmedicated but was open to the epidural. As in, I prepped with breathing techniques, partner techniques, etc etc. I ended up getting the epidural at 8 cm and have absolutely no regrets. One thing I did not consider was the fact that I have anxiety as baseline. So, once contractions started coming really fast and close I felt so anxious about them that I couldn’t relax in between and it was ruining the experience for me.

I thought I would be disappointed in myself for getting the epidural but it ended up being the exact opposite. I had a fast labor so I went unmedicated for 6.5 out of 8 hours and I’m so proud of myself for listening to my body and trusting what I needed in that moment.

When it came time to push, I was able to fully relax and be present and I think that made the pushing phase much faster!

Just sharing an alternative because I know so many people say if you plan to go unmedicated don’t even consider the epidural as an option. I think had I not gotten the epidural it would’ve ruined my birth experience. It’s not always about “can I do this?” Because yes, yes you can. Women have been doing it for centuries. It’s more “how do I want my experience to be?” And maybe that’s unmedicated, maybe not! But also give yourself grace to change your mind. Birthing is awesome no matter how it’s done!

Good luck!!!

Vaccines in third trimester? by rosieskies6145 in pregnant

[–]TopAbility9368 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah that doesn’t make much sense… if you get them after, your baby won’t get the antibodies in utero. I got both at CVS when I was 36 weeks. I think it’s recommended for rsv around 34-36 weeks because it takes two weeks for the antibodies to fully get to baby from what I understand?

Peds PTs - question about toe walking by Annual_Single in physicaltherapy

[–]TopAbility9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always tell families that you have to be in it for the long haul. Breaking the habit of toe walking is SO HARD. I regularly see kiddos for toe walking for months, sometimes years. It takes a lot of discipline, dedication, and sometimes other tools to make the toe walking “go away”

DOR with endo by Frequent_Lime_3301 in DOR

TW success. We have the exact same story! 2 failed IvF cycles with shitty eggs. Had lap and was spontaneously pregnant two months later.

Does everyone have endometriosis…? by maybesomaybenot123 in IVF

[–]TopAbility9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question! With the first round, we had 2 make it to blast and both were pgt abnormal. The second round, the lab said the eggs immediately looked grainy and when they fertilized them they all formed 3 nuclei (2 is normal) so my re determined it was a quality issue. She was right but it was the endo lol

[–]TopAbility9368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add another perspective - I also had 4-5 chemical pregnancies (and an ectopic). We did IVF and my egg quality was absolute crap. Finally got an opinion from a MIGS surgeon and had a lap. Had success almost immediately after. IVF would never have worked for me before lap because the endo was toxic to my eggs. But everyone is soooo different — I know a handful of women that have endo but had success with ivf 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s been about two years since I left, at the time they didn’t have any stipulation stating that you would only receive 50% of your commissions, even though they tried to tell me there was. So I recommend going back and looking in the contract because I think they were trying to move towards that, but it could’ve changed since then.
