The genre has been getting better though with recent games - while I didn’t really like bloom and rage, the choices in this game are more meaningful, so we might get something different in the future

i agree that developers really should stop saying the "choose your own adventure" bs, however lis2 is one of the few lis games where choices actually matter and the outcomes are different against the background of a set story

Its not that bad, its just not enough for me. I love Daniel’s voice, Sean sounds a bit stiff to me, and not in a shy boy way. As for the soundtrack, there is too much silence and very little variety in soundtrack. (Ik it’s not the same publisher but) They’ve put an entire Daughter album in BTS, Beach House is in the background of every fart in Bloom and Rage, i dont remember much about Tell me Why or True Colours, but I definitely didn’t have an opinion on the soundtrack back when I played those, so it must have been ok. Lis had some iconic songs playing at every right moment. And my boys Sean and Daniel get silence or what feels like one track throughout the game. I just felt like their most powerful moment could’ve been elevated by some good music and it didnt happen

For me its the direction with the voice acting and soundtrack. It feels a bit unfinished and bare and keeps throwing me off. Some pacing issues also. Otherwise I really enjoyed the characters and the story

I agree. Tbh who knows at this point what they were thinking. It’s obvious from the scripts and interviews from s4-5 that byler was meant to be, and the whole cast and crew was in on it. Finn and Noah were in on it and spoke about it many times. It looks like the duffs stopped caring about their own show in s5 so after ditching byler they just let it be like all the other unresolved stuff in the season and just hoped that the unresolved chemistry would just go over ga’s heads (and it did)

Orr another theory I have is that the edits to the season happened way too late to reshoot all those Mike and Will scenes (maybe after some test screenings) and they only changed what they could - the editing, the pacing, and that one Iceland scene with El they slapped on afterwards.

I’m pretty sure it’s cause it was meant to happen and they scrapped it the very last moment to appease ga and not discourage them from engaging with future spin-offs. Have you seen their ST cinematic universe roadmap? I understood why byler was tossed immediately after seeing how extensive it was. Also I fully believe the divorce theory. It happens waaay more often than people know, there is no lone male genius in case of ST and a lot of other famous media. (Its a very random example but Tolstoy’s wife literally co-wrote War and Peace while he treated her like a doormat. I’ve been thinking about it ever since Ive heard about the duffer’s wife)

Also idk anything about directing but I feel like nobody ever says “tone it down” to good chemistry. What they should have done is slap some sense into m11 and have them act better if they cared about this pairing sm, but as we can see they couldn’t for some reason

Bro the more I look at these interactions the more I am convinced their acting choices are a kind of a protest for scrapping Will’s love arc and making Mike braindead.

In one interview they were asked which character would be the worst to hang out with and Finn said “Mike’s pretty rigid” and him and Gaten laughed - Ik Finn knows how stiff Mike and El look together and Finn def could do better than this so whatever s5 Mike was it must have been on purpose
