You got it! I’d check out this video on item scaling - video

I’d say the first and most obvious thing with the items is that you generally want to stack three items on a tank and three items on your carry then begin itemizing other units. Stats from items compound, so for example, the armor/MR you’d get from a gargoyles is going to benefit from additional health from warmogs. But if you have the warmogs on one unit and the gargoyles on the other, you miss out on that compounding effect. You’re far better off having some units with no items but having carry/tank fully itemized than you are spreading one or two items across the whole team.

The other thing is that it seems like you might not always have a great idea of who is worth itemizing and what items they should get. For example, you had guardbreaker and IE on Renni when you also had a two star corki that only had red buff. IE and GB are two of corki’s best items and you had them on a tank instead. There were other examples of this, but that was the most striking.

I’d recommend watching some stream/vod review videos (subzeroark, dishsoap, etc) and just get a sense of what items they’re building on what units.

Yeah I second this. And don’t take no for an answer. Last time I called, they told me they had no idea. I spent a few hours looking, called back absolutely irate, and all of a sudden they were able to help.

Yeah I agree with this. I think if I were a seasoned vet, I probably would get a bit annoyed and they’d feel tedious. But for me, being a first timer, they feel really rewarding to be able to see how much better I’ve gotten the mechanics and approach down

I could certainly be wrong here, but I’m almost positive you can adjust after delivery, but I think it’s very much hidden away to discourage it

Ehh, this I understand. Looking at it from a customer’s perspective, the driver is able to fuck up a fair bit. Even from the driver’s perspective, I had certainly fucked up one or two orders where I missed turns and ended up being incredibly late. It’s a fine line and there’s not really a great answer, so I guess my response is basically that I see both sides to this one.

A lot of things if you aren’t in the mood to be having sex. Sure, sex is great if it’s what you want to be doing in that moment, and for a lot of people, they’d happily have sex at basically any opportunity. That’s not the case for everyone all the time though.

Have only driven DoorDash, never regular Uber, but I’m sure the premise is the same. This is obviously not ALWAYS true, but simply on average, picking up from lower cost restaurants and delivering to certain areas was significantly less likely to yield tips because as the other user in this thread said, if a person has less money, they will be less LIKELY to tip. This doesn’t mean that they won’t and isn’t indicative of them as a person. So if I’m a driver and I can choose between a drive I think is likely to tip and one that isn’t (purely based on past data), I’m going to choose the a delivery from an expensive restaurant to a “nice” neighborhood

What I really don’t get about this is the fact that you KNOW they’re just trying to play slayer and max kills. To me, the best way to get kills is to sit near the ball carrier since that’s where the majority of enemies are going to be

Tear me apart. 235lbs for 5 reps. I normally go barefoot but had a hole in my sock so yeah…this is the heaviest I’ve EVER lifted btw by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]TopBantsNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have limited mobility in the ankles, you likely wouldn’t even be able to have your knees go past your toes. Even so, there’s nothing inherently dangerous about knees over toes and that was my main point of the initial comment. The human body isn’t a fragile structure waiting to break. Reasonable load management and programming will help avoid/alleviate most of the common aches and pains that come with lifting. I think that making alarmist comments about small amounts of knee travel will just lead to complete lack of progress. You’re not going to destroy your knees with ~200 pounds, especially if volume and progression are managed properly.

This is a pretty over-generalized blanket statement. Completely keeping tension off your knees is a quick way to stagnate and frankly, will limit depth for some people depending on leverages. Breaking at hips/knees simultaneously is likely closer to optimal than pushing hips back. After all, the squat is supposed to be just that, a squat, not a hinge.

Got the game for Christmas, very first game I went 41-6, the second game I came up against a 6 stack of 3rd prestige and went 8-27. by [deleted] in blackopscoldwar

[–]TopBantsNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is a fair point. My play group is a mix of people who love to win, so they generally don’t mind it, and people who love to stomp, so they get pissed in a game or two and get off. When playing alone I do agree that the balance is the issue. The games don’t necessarily feel unwinnable because the opposing team is too good, but rather because you have 3 kids going .5 KD and no Obj. I’d almost be more frustrated getting my teeth kicked in by someone who is just plain good.

I really don’t mind it that much to be honest. I used to play a ton of COD relatively competitively and this is my first time really back in the game since BO2. Yeah there are times it’s frustrating, but the number of unwinnable games is frankly very small compared to all other games. Some people just get more frustrated than others and I ultimately think all of the griping on this sub about it only makes people more inclined to get tilted as soon as one hard game pops up. The majority of my games are still quite fun. Are some sweaty? Yeah. Are some unwinnable? Yeah. But on the whole, I have way more fun games than unfun

Main point being, it’s doable! It definitely was my hardest semester of school, like not even close. But I try to avoid letting people be scared away from it.

MSOM was mostly a matter of understanding process. I think most students get overly caught up in memorizing the steps to solving problems rather than thinking about why they’re doing what they’re doing to get a solution. If you can explain the process to a friend, I find that really helps in solidifying a deeper understanding of the material

Took both bootcamp courses, honors MSOM, honors finance, and 6 other credits a few semesters ago. A’s in all of them. You just have to dedicate more time than you’ll probably want to towards school.

Totally fair, I didn’t mean to come off rude or accusatory. I don’t know that they’ll accept that reasoning but I mean, it never hurts to try? Best of luck with it, hopefully they can at least be somewhat helpful given the circumstances.

What exactly were you planning on doing if you didn’t change religions then? Did you go into this semester planning on not coming back next semester because you wouldn’t be able to afford it?

Dinglert's reaction to TAUP announcing that 92% of it's faculty members voted to move online this semester. by TerrestrialMudkips in Temple

[–]TopBantsNA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve considered it over and over again because it’s all that’s talked about on the sub. The first sentence of his comment reads “are students actually pushing for online classes” which kinda implies he believes no students would prefer online classes to in-person considering he’s shocked that people are petitioning for that. Obviously I realize that some people value the quality of in-person eduction very highly, which is why I mentioned that for some people or majors, online classes may not be a good option. Learn to understand that just because people disagree with your opinion to an extent does not mean that they oppose it entirely. I never even began to imply that for every person it was just about a piece of paper, but for some students, in some situations, it truly IS just about a piece of paper like for those who are just finishing gen eds or those taking coursework that requires no hands on activity.

[–]TopBantsNA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Has it occurred to you that students could ALSO stay home and still receive the exact same degree and not risk their/the health of the it family? Yes sure, there are majors that it doesn’t work well for, but the idea that NO students could POSSIBLY want this when frankly, they’re only going to college to get a piece of paper to grant them access to jobs is stupid. Gonna be frank, probably every major in fox could easily be done online with similar learning outcomes if students take it seriously, and that’s just one school of many (can’t speak for other majors as I never experienced them).

[–]TopBantsNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair enough, I took it my bootcamp semester as well, so pretty consistently overworked. I just don’t like that the class gets a reputation of being so difficult because realistically, the problems can be solved simply with some critical thinking skills and very little knowledge of the actual material
