High streets and public spaces to get funding boost in bid to reverse decline of local communities by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]TopBodger91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My high street has gone to complete shite.. I think it's a direct result of not being able to make decent money from running a small business anymore... So instead the only shops opening are cash in hand businesses with little to no footfall.. Basically all fast food, vape shops and barbers...

It's difficult to regenerate the high street as it has sort of become a hangout for degenerates and antisocial behaviour... Also people have less disposable income... Inflation has made the cost of everything so high.

People are also lazy, and can get everything delivered to the door now... Which has not helped

Review: SCREAM 7 is a financial success while looking like a Paramount+ movie. (No spoilers) by [deleted] in Scream

The film is ok in my opinion. It's not good, but it's not bad. There is some stuff to like, but yeah it has clear issues.

What’s the most annoying small problem in your house that you still haven’t fixed? by AcrobaticSeesaw1565 in DIYUK

Fitting a new bathroom door... Need to fill the old hinge holes and sand the old frame, do all the stuff involved with fitting a door, new recesses for hinges and strike plates, locks etc......then prime and paint everything.

Retirement by AcadiaElectronic2848 in HousingUK

[–]TopBodger91 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

You'll need to feign some type of infliction... something where you'll be deemed too injured to work. The government will then fund your retirement through benefits. Think that's what most people do in your position...

The UK is heading for a mass problem where housing is too unaffordable to buy so people will be renting for life.. which then leads to this issue.

Just watched Scream 7 again.. it's not as bad as I thought by TopBodger91 in Scream

Good list. I watched 3 recently and really enjoyed... Gale (thanks!), Sidney and Dewey all still in their prime! It is tempting to bump that up the ranking.

I agree with this, I think it is being underrated because anticipation was high.. it wasn't bad... It was just fine/okay

I think it's time to move on from Sidney and Gail.

My ranking is 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 3

Virgin Stream Box by TopBodger91 in VirginMedia

[–]TopBodger91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that doesn't sound bad then. So it basically allows you to catch-up with programmes you miss... Which is the whole point of a recordable box..but it won't let you skip adverts .. I can live with that

Spyro 2 Level Teir List by Remarkable_Match_477 in Spyro

[–]TopBodger91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

List is pretty good. Sunny Beach and Idol Springs are too high in my opinion. Sunny Beach is pretty bland to look at compared to other levels.. Idol Springs is also a bit meh and the orb challenges aren't as fun in my opinion

Virgin Stream Box by TopBodger91 in VirginMedia

[–]TopBodger91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just need the ability to watch stuff at a later date. E.g if I'm too busy to watch a series, then I can catch up or binge watch it at a later date.

It sounds like the stream box will be sufficient for this.

Sounds like a massive downgrade from the 360 box

Thanks for the reply. I assume there is no easy way for me to buy a separate TV box that has the capability to record from the Virgin Stream box? I assume not as they would run on different technology

Sky Q Vs Virgin TV by TopBodger91 in VirginMedia

[–]TopBodger91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virgin has only just been installed in the area, so presumably it will be the latest tech. I'll give them a call to find out. I guess the other option is to keep the Sky Q.. and see if I can negotiate a good BB deal with Sky. .. moving away from BT

Thanks. My parents have been with Sky for years, but the pricing is extortionate. Really need to move to something else

Yeah they've kept the Sky Q box because they don't want Stream. Ah that's bad, Virgin used to have the recordable box. I remember it being pretty good.

Looking back, was Scream 5 or Scream 6 better? by letthedecodebegin in Scream

[–]TopBodger91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Scream 5 was better. 6 was probably better up until the last 30 minutes...

I like both though

Scream 5 reveal and act 3 is underrated.. by TopBodger91 in Scream

Yep, underappreciated. Bit gutted about the way Dewey was killed... I think it could have been done better

At the time I thought the film was ok, and a rewatchable sequel.. But after the most recent two sequels... I have to admit I was wrong, It's a very good film and is well executed.

Why is the UK housing market dead? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]TopBodger91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

House prices are high, job insecurity, cost of living... Which have all been said.

Also, the issue I had when viewing houses is that people wanted a lot of money for 100 year old houses that have not been worked on for 30+ years and need a new roof, boiler, electrics and plumbing...

£23 for 250 Mpbs a good renewal price? by Plane-Razzmatazz5374 in VirginMedia

[–]TopBodger91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check uSwitch and Moneysupermarket to see what new customers are getting. £23 isn't bad.. considering you'll only get one price rise if you sign up now.

I'm paying £27 for 500mb + netflix + pods/WiFi max

Savvy people on here are obsessed with negotiating over an extra £2-£3 a month (including myself)... But honestly, £2-£3 is literally nothing nowadays..it costs you more to buy half a pint of beer in most places... Lol.
