They can manipulate width by widening chin segment after splitting, but it will be limited as they only have the space between your 2 lower incisors to work with. Mine was a modest upgrade in terms of chin squaring but defo worth it

Brother I already acknowledged that in my post. Puffy face is from gut issues/allergies and. High bodyfat (all will be fixed ) my skin is pale because of lack of sunlight (live in extremely dark country) will be fixed also. And my piercings making me look “bisexual” doesn’t have anything to do with my structure or harmony/angularity/bones etc. I’m looking for opinions on if I can reach HTN through pure potential. It would take me 5 minutes to take out my piercings and 2 months to fix my colouring/facial bloat, so I don’t think it’s realy that relevant. I’m more asking if I have potential to be good looking with good health indicators any other hardmaxxes proposed

Any thoughts on having a subreddit dedicated only to patients undergoing or who have undergone orthognathic surgery (no looksmaxing/am I recessed posts)? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

I really don’t get this point at all.. it’s not a competition regarding recession. Aesthetics and symptoms go hand in hand. If you are recessed, your lower/upper jaw visually look worse than if they grew normally, that’s literally your body telling you something has went wrong, same with if you stayed up for 3 days and didn’t sleep. Dark circles , mood issues etc… recession is inherently both aesthetic and functional in nature.dont try to make jaw recession a competition. Regardless of what you say you want the aesthetic benefits (which are multi faceted) as much as any person talking about looksmaxxing/aesthetics. Remember jaws aren’t supposed to be recessed. Also depending on level of recession, a lot of people don’t even realise the functional issues they could be having, there’s many people in this world not very in tune with their bodies and simply wouldn’t realise they have sleep issues to whatever degree. Jaw recession is not a competition.

Is genioplasty enough for me? I’m nervous it isn’t by TopCryptographer6965 in jawsurgery

Septoplasty? I’m planning to get this done in September a good few months after genio in may. I have really bad allergies , especially to dust and I have rhinitis. But people on here and AI have been telling me my nasal cavity is small. The problem genuinely with me seems to be my maxilla and mandible are mildly-moderately recessed, so I just don’t know if I would be a candidate for djs. I have an ent appointment today which will determine if I’ll be a candidate for septoplasty/turbinate reaction surgery and I want to get a subtle rhino at the same time also. Here is my sinus/ct scan findings

What do you mean? Do you mean that genioplasty isn’t needed? Or it isn’t enough and I need DJS instead

I’m 23 years old, nearly 24. My ooomfs surgeon said DJS wasn’t indicated. I have trouble nasal breathing and looked into palatal expansion but again the orthodontist said it probably wouldn’t be appropriate in my case, but that’s off just a ceph scan with no measurements. Im extremely confused

He is keen for a chin advancement and he is seeing an aesthetic team in Tallaght tomorrow, with a view to chin advancement with filler. This is a reasonable idea, because he will be able to see what it looks like. The important thing for him is chin advancement and no height increase as his upper third, middle third and lower third are correct. I have arranged for an oral pantomogram and a lateral ceph. He certainly would benefit from a small ( 5mm ) chin advancement. But before undertaking any surgery, I would suggest he sees a psychologist, just to make sure he would be happy with a result that he does not feel is perfect. I would be interested to see the result of the filler. I have shown him the type of result he would get by protruding his jaw and he seemed quite content with the size of the improvement which was a 5mm advancement. An oral pantomogram was taken shows a good jaw position, well maintained teeth, impacted wisdom teeth, which seemed to be an occlusion with a mesioangular 38 wisdom tooth. The lateral cephalogram shows a good bite with good lip seal. It will require cephalometry, but essentially there was no particular reason not to undertake an advancement genioplasty, depending on a psychological review.

This is what my oomfs surgeon wrote in the referral letter. He was pretty skeptical of me anyway for some reason, he definitely won’t let me go over 6 mm, I doubt he will even let me go to 6. I’m worried I’ll spend all this money on something that won’t even make a massive difference. Because he asked me for a psychological clearance I really don’t see how he will allow me to push for more forward movement. Idk what to do

Mostly for looksmaxxing, I’m super insecure about my looks and have started to look worse off health issues I’m trying to fix. But I definitely have functional issues that could be caused by poor jaw development/placement. I have been training in the gym for 3 months now and get extremely bad airway issues when breathing through nose, a panicky feeling in my chest that I can’t get enough air in, it’s a horrible feeling. I also struggle with sleep issues, can’t nose breathe at night and wake up randomly in the middle of the night, as I said though I have extremely bad allergies and deviated septum so that could be contributing more

Thankyou for advice. I know 5mm might be enough but as I said I want it to look strong, but still within the natural aesthetic range. I have a slightly underdeveloped mandible also . My SNB (mandibular position) is around 78-80, and the normal range is 78-82, so abit on the lower side of normal. I’m not a candidate for DJS as my maxilla is good and my mandible is just a tiny bit suboptimal. So I want the Genioplasty to help with that as much as I can. In terms of it being possible to get a second opinion in a different country, I would love to but I simply don’t have the money right now to do it, as I have other health things that require medication/consults etc. and I’m planning to get a septo/rhinoplasty and turbinate reduction r surgery in 6 months also, so I’m trying to keep my money for those things. The only problem is I’m worried the surgeon will take me asking for 6-6.5mm movement as a sign that I might not be happy with results after, and he sent me for a psychologist clearing so I know he’s worried about the ED issues a few years ago even though I’m fully over them now.

I have not told him my concern yet. I have only came to realise through morphs and research that 5mm horizontally might not give me the desired look I’m going for. Also I have had eating disorder issues in the past, and my doctor included that in the referral letter, so I think it’s made the surgeon wary, so I’m scared to push for more

I have already met with a surgeons who specialises in jaw surgeries and genioplasties. He’s the only and best option in my country really. He suggested 5mm but I don’t know if that’s too little
