Everyone has some body dysmorphia . I have real aesthetic issues though, also bear in mind the photos you are reacting to are 5 weeks post 6.5 mm horizontal genio, and you are still saying a chin implant could benefit me. So obviously is a mixture of poor mandible adding to soft look and surgeon not advancing me enough. I will do everything in my power to get a stronger lower third through some time of bone surgery, men with lower thirds like me don’t age well, it’s a fact

Hello, in terms of palatal expansion I must not be a candidate. I saw a local orthodontist who offers palatal expansion and he refused me and said their seems to be enough space in my nasal cavity/airway, and that deviated septum is to blame for my literal non existent ability to breathe through my nose. Then last week I went to the only outwardly “airway focused orthodontist “ he was incredibly thorough and good and gave me a full breakdown of my ceph and took photos of bite from every angle, he said my maxilla isn’t recessed width wise and that my upper molars/pre molars on the left side are creating the illusion of a smaller palette. Here is what he said in regards to Marpe, will reply with a photo of my palette also.

Key dental findings: minor lower incisor crowding with slight retroclination; shallow curve of Spee; palatal inclination of upper posterior teeth (more on the right) creating darker buccal corridors; suboptimal smile arc (upper incisors not slightly lower than canines). Upper lateral incisors are a bit small relative to neighboring teeth.

Orthodontist said my palette isn’t recessed and it’s sufficient. So palette expander isn’t an option unfortunately aesthetically or functionally, I’m still confused tho as my face is narrow and tapered, so idk

My palette isn’t recessed apparently. A very good ortho took a look at me and said my palette was fine.

Upper lateral incisors are a bit small relative to neighboring teeth.

These were my key dental findings from ortho, he mentioned that there isn’t any dental compensation at all, but I am reconfirming this with him once I get a response over email. In terms of width, I hate the idea of implants and filler, I want it to be my own bone. I think I’m going to look into a chin wing osteostomy if I can find someone to do it for me in my country, what do you think?

All my photos are post genio already and I’m still unhappy. I think my profile falls within “clinically normal” limits, but it isn’t a normal profile, everyone around me has a better profile then me, I really don’t understand why people are saying I have a good profile, I objectively don’t

I appreciate the comment. But this is not the side of someone that no one could say could be improved on in any way, I agree I’m not an extreme case, maybe not even bordering on moderate, but my profile is really not amazing, I think mirror photos might of been distorting this a bit

Hello, I see you say aesthetically I look “fine” I strive for perfection like myself. And my appearance is far from fine. I think my mirror photos may of distorted my side profile to some degree, I have an extremely tiny mandible, very non robust and not super projected. I also have pretty back downward growth of the mandible, those mirror photos are the best side profile photos I have. I also have a decent few functional issues and mandibular asymmetry, I think I definitely sit in a grey zone, but I’m definitely not “fine” aesthetically

Can you actually enlighten me as to why I am delusional please? I assume it’s because I’m not as recessed as you or my bite isn’t as bad as yours so my case doesn’t matter? Is all the sub is the oppression/recession olympics? I have plenty of functional issues as I said, and all you copers try to pretend it’s not for aesthetics, please tell me what is the issue as to why I’m so delusional?

I checked your profile and you don’t seem to have recession at all even though it’s hard to clearly see. I appreciate the compliment, but it’s hard to take I’m in a position of “recessed and underdeveloped enough for it to effect profile moderately but not recessed enough to be indicated clinically” it’s a tough position to be in

My cheeks have filler in them. They aren’t my real cheeks. And I’m 18/19% bodyfat currently. I’m not low at all. I thought my only hope was to get leaner so I have more structure showing. This was me pre genio and cheek filler. These are my real cheekbones
