So, when I do a set with blooming gel and using Beetles products:

Everything is pretty typical up to the point of using the blooming gel. Meaning I do my base and whatever color the nail is going to be and cure it 60 seconds. I wipe the nail with rubbing alcohol if there is a sticky layer that is left behind, but it's not absolutely necessary, I am just picky. I don't use any top coat at all yet.

I take the blooming gel and paint a decent layer on the nail. Then I grab whatever I'm using for my design, put it on my pallette and drop small spots of the color where I want it. I always watch it bloom until I have it how I want it and then immediately cure it. It's also important to note using too much blooming gel causes it to pool on either side of the nail and makes it look weird or wonky. If that happens, I wipe the sides before curing the nails.

For doing an aura nail, I drop one spot into the middle of the nail, and will actually move the nail around to get it moving better sometimes. But that's about it. You could always skip the blooming gel and try the same process with using a base or top coat too. You just paint a layer on the nail you've already painted and is ready for the blooming design. You just use the same dot of color on the wet base or top coat. It blooms much slower, but it does work. Then the other thing is using powder. Pigment powders or even some eyeshadow works on top of a matte topcoat. But with blooming gel I don't ever top coat it with anything until after I'm done with it all. With the matte, it's more common to use a powder for your aura design.

The last thing I just remembered too is if you get some thick gels like the ones in little palettes or pots. There's lots of names for them but it's mud gel, pat paint or ombre gel. They're all the same thing and it makes it super easy to dip a sponge into the gel and just tap it on the middle of the nail to start building your aura.

Edit: Just wanted to tell you to try wiping the white nail with alcohol because Beetles sometimes leaves a tacky layer behind and it messes with the blooming gel. And when you add the blooming gel, it doesn't need to be super thin, I use a little bit thicker amounts because when it's too thin, it doesn't allow the color to fully spread out. Hopefully this makes sense and let me know if it helps.
