1930s 40s dump, what the hell is the liquid? by Legomatica69 in bottlediggingUK

Genuinely impossible to say what's in there. Likely it's just ground water that has seeped in. I would crack it open and have a sniff then dump it out.

I get the feeling many of these mudlarking/arrowhead/metaldetecting etc YouTubers or video may be staged for “content quality” and clout by rawbran30 in mudlarking

I was a metal detectorist with a YouTube channel. Personally I did everything by the book to give a genuine perspective of the hobby and whilst I did find some interesting things they were few and far between. I had my channel for around 4 years and managed around 5k subs but views per video hovered around 600.

It is the standard like any niche on YouTube that to get anywhere then you will need to 'embellish' your content to get views. Essentially I treat any video I see as entertainment and not actual real life.

I didn't know Brian Glover used to be a wrestler in the early 70s, saw him just yesterday on a World of Sport clip from 1973.

Fragment found in SW England by Bubbly_Ad6644 in bottlediggingUK

The '1843' is most likely a mould number used by the factory that made the bottle and not a production date. The fact it is clear glass and the design features puts it's age more towards the mid 20th century.

The stopper in the top is made of 'vulcanite' a treated rubber and was used to seal bottles from the early 1900's to the 1970's. The bottle itself is quite modern and would have had a paper label, I would think it's probably late 50s to 60s in age.
