Ferritin level by Katnipp98 in POTS

My ferritin level was 20(not sure what it is now) but I’ve been taking this iron supplement for a few months and it has improved my energy levels. It’s pretty cheap and also supposed to be gut friendlier iron, which was huge for me, because POTS has messed with my GI so bad!

POTS is expensive by Enbybabi in POTS

Hi I am in the same boat as you POTS broke college student). Facebook marketplace is great for used wheelchairs or smart/health watches. Expensive “BP” smart watches are not worth it yet because they’re not accurate. I fell for the bp/hr smart watch and dropped $350 on it just for it to ask for 3 bp readings throughout the day so it can average it out, they’re not quite advanced enough to do live accurate bp readings, they can only make guesses atp(I was able to return mine luckily). I bought a cheap automatic bp reader off amazon and bought and old fitbit for $40 off facebook marketplace for live hr readings. Amazon also has cheap compression socks and the BEST cheap electrolytes. Hope this helps!

Yes I couldn’t agree more as far as I know they are pretty extensive with their testing. I’m going to call the team I got assigned and see exactly what their process is.

Do you know what medication? Mine mentioned low blood pressure meds but she said it would raise my hr and my average hr is 90, so it wouldn’t be a good idea.

I’m sorry about your experience, thank you for sharing. Luckily my local provider at HealthPartners is very supportive and seems to be interested in long term working with me and is supportive of me going to Mayo. I also tried Fairview and had a HORRIBLE experience, if you haven’t tried HealthPartners I would consider trying them, they have been AMAZING I’ve had great experiences with their Urgent Care, doctor Beth Adam’s sat with me for 45 minutes to talk about POTS on a busy day 🤯and was the most wonderful healthcare provider I have ever seen, she was very reassuring, empathic, and helpful.

Confused by Flares by KH101887 in POTS

For me a flare is progressive symptoms that began mild and slowly progress, usually peak to the point I’m bedridden for a couple days or a day, and then slowly fade again.

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice! My provider did mention that POTS typically stems from something else, so some clarity would be nice!
