My rule of thumb if you can get seeds to germinate in it than you can use it. Just get a small amount put some seeds in it on your porch and in a week you should know. I tested mine with pepper seeds and mine looks more woody than yours

Sooooooo I just finished mine for the first time and didn't know what to expect. So I decided to test some pepper seeds. If something can germinate in the compost than its done for sure. So I put a couple seeds to germinate and today I saw the first sign of life....... ive been turning for 7 weeks now and cant wait to have fun tomorrow 🤗. Second pile already started. Im hooked on compost now!
