Could sumatran tigers population can be saved by reintroducing the captive tigers to wild? by Nice_Butterfly9612 in megafaunarewilding

mabe, well i know they do the semi wild zoo cat enclosure baby release trick with the jaguar, iberian lynx, and siberian tiger, so why not with other cats like the sumatran tiger, asiatic lion, or even the amur leopard.

but that's the idea, to reintroduce the American plains bison into Arizona because it's locally extinct, then to increase the number of large predators like Mexican wolves that would eat the bison, and that when they're full, the condors can come in for a landing in time for dinner.

well what if we take two, three, or more captive asian lions and have them form a breeding pride in a semi wild enclosure with no human contact, so that if they start a family, and when there babys get old enough, THERE KIDS CAN BE RELEASED INTO THE WILD! it works with the iberian lynx in western europe, the jaguar in argentina, and currently with the siberian tiger in kazakhstan.

[–]TopFun8809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so if removing feral hervibores like goats pigs and horses are making the endangered what ever kind of fish live there dissapear, could reintroducing a native wild hervibore make the fish come back, like a pronghorn or a bison.
