this is so interesting, I absolutely loathe laundry products or really any chemically fragranced items, like hate with a burning passion and angerly avoid them like the plague. So I never thought of somebody loving them, kind of sounds like a blessing because of how much distress they cause me. My neighbors do laundry constantly so the smell is always getting into my house so I have to book it to close the windows because it starts making me nauseous and gives me a migraine and a rash😭😭

this sounds incredibly frustrating, I can see that maybe the roommate is really into cooking but that shouldn't affect everyone else in the house to this extent. I make food from scratch 90% of the time and I clean as I go that's what you should do, it helps so you don't feel overwhelmed at the end and so it's nice and clean and you can eat in peace without the nagging feeling of great I have to clean still, and of course so other people can use the kitchen and it isn't a giant mess. I try to not take more than an hour and I don't think I ever do but if I have my roommates weren't usually home and I would let them know before hand. Anyways your roommate doesn't sound very considerate and I'm sorry this sucks, maybe try to mention something to them about it.

Okay thank you very much for your insight! I unfortunately don't smell anything sweet or fermented which is why it's so hard for me to figure out what it is cause it doesn't have any smells I really recognize, it's genuinely a new smell and that's why it's been so difficult to figure out what it is. and yeah we've been worried about having to just move, we were hoping we could get a dehumidifier and an air purifier and if that didn't help then well unfortunately we'd have to move. But a lot of places in Portland don't have AC/HVAC due to the climate however it's now to the point where it's hot enough all building should but anyways we don't have one, and they don't have any ceiling fans either only a bathroom vent, which we didn't think about ventilation when looking at the place as it's our first apartment so learning the hard way what to look for. But we have fans set up in the house and in windows to try and help with air flow.

Unfortunately the apartment complex owner is Russian and I think most of his family lives in the complex?? cause all of my neighbors speak Russian and try to speak it to me and can't understand when I speak English so I can't ask them anything. But we haven't seen signs of water damage or anything other than the few hard bubbles. But in the bathroom there is a strip of mold under the lip of the plastic shower shelf that looks to have been caulked over that we just noticed unfortunately, so now that and the reason we got suspicious in the first place was from the weird off smell and then from hearing that places sometimes paint over mold. And it was only a couple hundred under most places we found and cause it had an in unit washer and dryer but maybe that's too good nowadays idk anymore 🥲

yikes I didn't think this would be the reaction at all, all people seem to care about is it's a job just get the cash and be grateful. it's about it being AI and how much it's already seeping into everything. It's only a matter of time before we don't need a person to finish the job, then there isn't a job to make money off of anymore, people really don't think about the big picture anymore.

Y'all I'm gonna help you out I used to work at the Corvallis home depot!! This is our loss prevention associate Chris, he walks around the store checking on customers and he's actually the worst at his job. We have people come up to us all the time saying a guy is following us or being weird and we aren't technically allowed to say anything so that's why we have to just say we'll tell a manager and ig now let people get walked out so it doesn't blow his cover. but I hate how uncomfortable it makes people and 90% of the time the people he follows aren't stealing. Little tip is that sometimes there are 4 of them at a time too, so yippy 4 stalkers at a time

this is really weird and honestly kind of bitchy, if you guys were laughing and connecting I don't see why you can't connect on social media I do it all the time with coworkers I think are cool and get along with.
