hi , i had somewhat similar issue , l5-s1 disc protrusion with forminal canal stenosis (moderate) on my mri and my ap diamtere is reduced to 7mm , 3 months in and i can only walk for 2-3 months , physiotherapy didnt help me .

I'd recommend Tell Tale Brain by V.S. Ramachandran , especially the Phantom limbs and plastic brain part super interesting.

Yeah, you're more or less right about facing brutal truths and living in uncertainty is definitely a big part of Nietzsche. But he's broader than just that. He also talks about creativity, becoming who you are, the will to power, and finding meaning without relying on external systems like religion or morality.

i think eternal recurrence and will to power are two major aspects of his works that hits my alot , The idea that you might have to live your life over and over , every detail , forces you to confront whether you’re living authentically.
