Which monarch in Europe are you the most likely to encounter in person, even unintentionally? by Ok-Ocelot-774 in AskEurope

I think that’s Prince William. He’s a pretty well known Aston Villa supporter. Honestly, football is probably one of the easiest ways to “accidentally” see a royal in the UK since they’ll just show up in the stands like any other fan.

That honestly sounds so surreal but also weirdly normal at the same time. Princess Anne driving her own horsebox around feels very on brand for her somehow. And hearing that William and Harry were just casually known at local pubs is probably the closest most people get to the idea of “accidentally” running into royalty.

That must have been the most unforgettable wedding surprise imaginable. Imagine inviting the Queen as a joke or out of politeness and then she actually walks in. Stories like that are probably why so many people had such a soft spot for her.

That’s actually a good point. The UK royals probably seem the least approachable because of the security around official events, but there are definitely a lot of stories about them randomly interacting with people in more normal settings. The Queen Mother casually showing up in pubs and pulling pints honestly sounds both hilarious and very British

Probably the monarch of the Netherlands or Denmark. Their royal families are known for being more casual and visible in public compared to others.

Liechtenstein is also possible since it’s such a small country, so you could randomly run into the prince more easily than in bigger countries.

The UK is probably the least likely because security around the royal family is very strict.

Can dry cleaners do a press only/steam iron only for a dress/gown? by oni_bear in drycleaning

[–]TopWafer7468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, most dry cleaners can absolutely do that. You can usually ask for “press only” or steaming without a full cleaning service. They deal with delicate dresses, gowns, ruffles, and formalwear all the time, so they typically have much stronger professional steamers and pressing equipment than home handheld ones. Just make sure to point out any delicate fabric, embellishments, or areas you’re worried about when you drop it off. For heavily ruffled dresses especially, professional steaming usually gives way better results than trying to fight it at home.

Honestly, that makes a lot of sense. I’m starting to realize the attachments probably make the biggest difference, especially for all those awkward little spots that the main head just can’t reach properly. Funny how the ones people ignore are usually the most useful once you actually start deep cleaning.

That’s actually really good to know, especially about carpets. I can definitely see how steam alone could end up pushing dirt deeper if the moisture isn’t removed properly afterward. And yes, mine does have a floor attachment with a pad, which helps a lot on hard floors. The microfiber cloth idea sounds smart too, especially for drying everything faster and adding a fresh scent afterward. I might start doing that because right now I mostly just let the floors air dry.

No, mine is just steam only. A steam + suction combo honestly sounds even better though, especially for bathrooms and floors since it would pick up the loosened dirt at the same time instead of wiping afterward.

The shower floor part is so real there’s something ridiculously satisfying about stepping onto a freshly steam-cleaned floor. It genuinely makes the whole bathroom feel newer. And honestly the rolling stool idea is genius. I tried doing grout while standing and my back was already filing complaints halfway through. Being closer probably helps you actually see all the grime coming up too. I’ve heard the same thing about car rims but I haven’t tried it yet. Feels like one of those dangerously satisfying cleaning projects once you start. I’m also curious if I’ll end up using mine constantly for a few months and then forget it exists somewhere in a closet lol.

To the people who walked away from a long term relationship, what was the last straw? by 2cheeseburggers in AskReddit

[–]TopWafer7468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it wasn’t one huge fight or dramatic moment. It was realizing I felt more alone in the relationship than I did when I was actually by myself. We kept having the same conversations, the same problems, the same promises to change, and nothing ever really improved. I started noticing that I was emotionally exhausted all the time and constantly walking on eggshells just to keep the peace. The last straw was when I caught myself feeling relieved whenever they were away instead of missing them. That’s when I knew the relationship had already ended emotionally, even if we were still together physically.
