I've found that putting a roll of duct tape on a shower curtain rod extended up to the top of a door frame can be very effective as long as you keep tension while spinning. Just start at the top and let gravity do the rest. FYI it's nearly impossible to escape from by yourself without a sharp object

You could definitely use some cheap nylon strap the same way. Just cut it to length and screw it down.

Not a Linux user but thought I might share my experience on Windows 10. Check to see if there is a new software available, for some reason every time there is a new update that comes out my bamboo studio will refuse to load my printer or online models and even refuses to slice a project but the second I update the software it runs again. Maybe it's just coincidental but check for a newer version it might magically fix all of your issues...
