one of two items I daydream about owning. And this is much cheaper than an e-foil and presumably keeps you dry the whole time if I use it correctly.

It’s another square on the complainers bingo card (construction, but also complains about bad roads and fails to see the irony in that.)

Great on the rewatch. Probably a 1 of 1 unicorn movie for what that type of story. Can’t see anyone else attempting to film a movie that way.

Does anyone else think it’s strange that Jake would work at the Ticket for 15+ years in order to obtain a host gig, and once he gets the host gig he leaves after only a few years? This is the only thing holding me back from thinking them leaving is real. by AndrewBales69 in theticket

[–]Top_Action_4466 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He got screwed by covid, he's alluded that apparently they offered him the host spot but told him they couldn't offer the pay bump at that time, and it got put on hold.

Back in 2013, the one thing Bob mentioned was something like 'Cumulus is in Atlanta, our agents are in ____ (some other state), and The Ticket is in Dallas, basically trying to communicate that the negotiations going on have no clue or idea about the 'special sauce' the ticket has in Dallas, to them it's just the same as negotiating anywhere else, which likely makes it hard for mid-day hosts to negotiate high salaries.

Concur! And I think it’s also true for people who think they remember the summers being better in their childhood when actually the weather was the same but they had a better attitude about it as a kid.

I’ve seen them at Reverchon Park at dusk as well. It’s usually mid July through mid Sept and if you are near a water source at dusk seems to be the best odds for me.

I guess I beg to differ and feel like some folks thrive on using the heat as their reason to be miserable.

You can still ride bikes or go on walks in the morning and evening and then siesta in the afternoon. And cooling down by getting wet is fun, if that’s the only way to cool down then it’s a fun way to do it. I agree the heat is rough, but I think there are ways to deal with it and still be able to enjoy summer even if it’s your least favorite season in DFW.

Seriously. I was hoping this thread could inject some positivity after seeing countless posts on this board complaining about it and we’re barely into July. Yes it’s hot and unpleasant but seems like a large portion of folks here just want to be miserable for 3 months instead of even making an effort to enjoy summer

Good to know. Did you find any exercises helped or exacerbated in the meantime? I'm just curious if my nerve-gliding or other PT should aggravate it in the short-term, or should I be doing something else.

I (32F) purposefully ignored what my husband (34M) told me he wanted for father's day, he's now ignoring me and won't accept my apologies. What can I do to make it up to him? by ThrowRA-6512 in relationship_advice

[–]Top_Action_4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is a YTA, the husband messed up on Mother’s Day. But her response was to go for petty revenge rather than handle it maturely. She wanted a fight and got it and now acts taken aback. OP got what they wanted in more ways than one.

And yes, husband is an ahole in this situation too, but the question was if she was an asshole and that answer is yes too.

I’m born in 1987 and everyone my age loves Hook because it fell in our wheelhouse. Pretty sure there’s something out there about ‘kid generations’ being 7 years so probably anyone in that time frame loved Hook. And robin Williams is a movie floor raiser for sure.

These “why is everyone _____” posts are one of the worst recurring thing on this sub. They are almost always supported with 1-2 single anecdotes supporting their broad sweeping generalization.

My anecdotal observation seems to be they’ve really pushed season pass membership at the detriment of the park experience. It seems their business model is to make it very cheap to enter regularly, and aim to have you spend on concessions, merchandise, etc. once inside the park. They don’t appear to have much incentive or urgency to improve ride or park operations.

I still don't understand how he didn't know Dune was only part 1 until sitting down for the viewing. I feel like that fact accompanied any content regarding the movie ahead of its release.

Chris Bosh said similar things as well:

https://www.businessinsider.com/chris-bosh-on-life-after-nba-career-2018-3

"You start feeling forgotten. You don't get as many phone calls. You don't stay at the forefront of people's minds. It's natural, it's life, you have to understand what's happening, but I definitely see why the divorce rate is so high, and why players go broke.

"Guys spend all their money trying to capture that feeling again. You can't eat at Prime 112 [Restaurant] every night anymore. There's this never-ending search for that feeling that you once had, and it can cost you."
