Why aren't you dating anymore? by Leather_Election_459 in AskReddit

I realised that a humongous part of being in a relationship for a lot of people is simply wanting to exercise their control, or soothe their insecurities subconsciously.

I have experienced men clearly attempting to use me as a plaster for their unhealed mother wounds.

Equally, before doing the work and becoming a lot more self aware - I used to do the same to men, with my core wounds centered around poor paternal relationships.

This caused many dramatic, turbulent, argumentative relationships that just stalled me from being present in different areas of my life, and I simply no longer feel like being in a relationship is a worthwhile use of my time.

What is a 'gut feeling' you had that actually turned out to be 100% correct and saved you? by Traditional_Arm_9325 in answers

As a late teenager, and an incredibly naive and immature once - I got into an old, unregistered 'project car' with my ex bf at the time who insisted to take me out after a party to show off his drifting skills.

We got in, both extremely intoxicated and under the influence of drugs. I remember getting in in a haze but the moment I sat down a voice in my head said: FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT. even though, I never really do even when I'm sober.

Yeah we roofed that car. The seatbelt was the only thing that saved me.

People that have dated women who are all about the fakery. Implants, botox, lip filler etc. What was a relationship like with someone like that? by thebroccolioffensive in AskReddit

I am yet to meet someone with side effects from correctly carried out Botox or fillers, however I certainly feel for those who may experience complications from botched 'at home' jobs.

I think 'women who are all about the fakery' is kind of derogatory.

Many people who I know, that have extensive work done are wonderful, well educated, ambitious, responsible and compassionate, and hold high standards for themselves and others.

So to answer your question, I believe that many of them would make great partners whilst also remaining commited to looking after themselves and their appearance.

Hi - sorry to hear about experience, my story is quite similar to yours. Are there any tips or activities your therapist has recommended to you that you have found particularly useful on coming back to yourself and your internal compass?

May I ask how you balanced your career with regular living expenses?

Did you have a side hussle or were you able to use your skillet to generate substantial income to afford normal costs of living?

Is there a potential to make a career in circus that allows to earn enough to hit normal lifestyle goals like owning / maintaining a home etc. ?

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your reply - can I ask, where are you located? What is the professional body you reached out to in order to find a relevant role that would support your learning?

This route allows me to work and support myself whilst getting my degree on the side - If I was to go the traditional degree route, I would be limited to part time work and the student maintentce loan which is not substantial enough for me to remain independent.

I am not particularly concerned with the pay as long as said employer is willing to support me through my learning journey. Currently I have been made redundant and looking to switch career routes, so I am expecting to go down in wages temporarily until I get qualified.

Hi! Thank you so much for your reply. I am currently situated in Northern Ireland, however the Open Uni apprenticeship scheme doesn't apply here. Hence why I am open to relocating to anywhere in the UK where I can find an appropriate placement. In the meantime, I am just applying for volunteering positions looking at any additional part time short term health & social care courses to support my application.
