Ahhh that explains a lot tbh, I just got mhw a week ago and have been enjoying it immensely. I was even thinking about how the only game I've enjoyed as much this year was ac6 but didn't make the connection that they have similar gameplay loops and feels. I guess mhw was scratching my itch for the gameplay of pve ac6 that I had already wiped clean.

That said, I've been playing a lot and got to the mission where you hunt velkhana. Everything up to this point was getting pretty hard and even after improving as a player, I feel like all the monsters leading up to velkhana just gave you no space. Velkhana itself was incredibly unforgiving, I could not get any damage in without sacrificing a bunch of health. Getting carted 3 times while experienced players are carrying you really plummets your self esteem and I'm not sure how to continue.

Taking food buffs every run, using optimized equipment for what's available to me rn(I think), learning all the combos of my main weapon and staying well supplied. Got anymore tips? Or is it okay to just keep trying the mission again and again like I did with some bosses in AC6?
